A Glimpse of America’s Future

A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have. – Gerald Ford, 1974

With the current talk of the proposed auto bailout, the media is focusing in large part on the union auto workers.  If the auto companies don’t get this proposed bailout, or if they have to file bankruptcy, thousands of retirees will lose their health care and pensions, and many more thousands of workers will lose their health care, benefits and their jobs.  It shouldn’t come as any surprise that they are on the brink of total collapse when, thanks to the strongarming of the unions, every worker cost the big three about twice what it cost similarly skilled workers outside of Detroit.  The unions negotiated hefty contracts which the auto companies had virtually no choice but to accept.  Now, those very contracts that were supposed to guarantee workers are what may cause them all to lose their jobs.  I heard on the radio this morning that Crysler shut down a plant that makes minivans, yet thanks to union contracts they still are paying the regular salaries and benefits of the workers for the next two years.  TWO YEARS TO PAY WORKERS WHO ARE NOT WORKING?  OF COURSE YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL.

I don’t blame the worker.  It is the union, an antiquated and unnecessary holdover from the industrial revolution, that has destroyed American manufacturing… and it is the union that will drive the final nails in each of the big three.  But the lesson to learn here is about more than the perils of collective bargaining and union exclusivity.

Paraphrasing President Ford, any time you empower someone to give you everything, they can take it all away.  We’re seeing that first hand with the autoworkers.  If the big three fail, how many thousands of workers will lose not just their income, but their benefits and health care that they were promised for life?  Some people are suggesting that this makes the case for government sponsored universal health care and greater benefits for all.  Clearly they aren’t paying attention.

Think about it.  Thousands of workers face devastating effects if the automakers can’t afford to continue paying for their health care or pensions.  Tens of millions of Americans would face equally devastating effects if the responsibility of health care was left to the federal government.  Sure, you can think the Federal government couldn’t fail… but that’s the same thing people thought about Ford and GM.  Now look at them.

This needs to be a wake up call to Americans.  Stop believing in a nanny state and give up your welfare mentality.  It is not your employer or your government’s responsibility to take care of you.  If you don’t get that, at some point you will be disappointed.  Social Security, Universal Health Care, Unemployment Benefits, etc.  Stop relying on someone else to do what you need to be doing for yourself.  Its hard.  The liberal establishment has been moving us into a socialistic mentality for some time… and now everyone relies on the government for much more than was ever originally intended.  That reliance gives them and lawmakers power, but it also invariably leads to collapse.  Just like the automakers, there is no where to go but down, unless we change our path.

Today its the autoworkers.  Tomorrow its another union company.  Eventually it will be the American public.  We will all be one big union, and collectively we will all fail.

The GOP & Bailouts

To all Republicans out there who supported the $700B bailout, the AIG bailouts, the Fannie & Freddie Bailouts, etc… you look like a hypocrite not supporting the auto bailout now.  There is a lesson to be learned here.  While the financial bailout may have had a more direct impact on our economy, the auto bailout likely has a more direct impact on America’s work force.  If a bailout isn’t right now (it’s not), then it wasn’t right then (it wasn’t).  ALWAYS VOTE YOUR PRINCIPLES.

Principles are there to guide your hand through the darkness when competing interests cloud the waters.  Many forgot that when they heard the sky was falling and the only salvation was the $700B bailout.  Hopefully by now you’ve learned your lesson.

Stop with the bailouts and reclaim the party’s soul.  It might be a small gesture and might have political costs… but enough is enough already.  Better to lose and be right, than win and be wrong.  It’s not just your political career at stake, its our country.

No Failure, No Success.

I’m so freaking sick of this bailout nonsense.  If companies are not allowed to fail in this country, then how are better ideas supposed to succeed?  From AIG, to forgiving your mortgage balance, to the big three auto companies… it seems like everyone is getting rewarded for failure.

Those of you who stop by regularly know that I once owned a family mortgage business.  The writing was on the wall about a year ago this time, but we tried to make it work not knowing just how long the industry would suffer.  We cut down to nothing, lowered our expenses, lost our personal health care, and did everything we could to stay afloat.  I found a way to eat lunch for $2.14 a day, and if I could bring it cheaper than that I would.  I ate less at dinner just so I would have leftovers for the next day.  There I was with five years of payments left on my gas-guzzling SUV, picking up Burger King receipts off the ground for the coupon on back.  I did everything I could to limit the bad and keep from going belly up.  At home things were equally as tight.  We limited travel and virtually all discretionary expenses, got rid of cable, stopped buying soda and beer and snacks.  We sold some stuff and even rented a room to a family member.  We did anything we could to get by.

And that’s what you have to do.  Through all of it, we kept making our household payments (mortgage, cars, etc).  Our lights stayed on and the water kept flowing.  We found a way to make it work, and we were blessed.

Since then I’ve been given a reprieve of sorts.  My new businesses are growing, and I’ve found ways to grow them nimbly while keeping expenses low.  And if my new businesses fail to put food on the table and keep things paid… then I’ll do something else… because that’s what big boys do.

I do have sympathy for people who lose their jobs.  Believe me, I understand.  When things got tight, I was praying five times a day for the money to make my next mortgage payment.  I worked in the office during the day and at home on the computer at night, all the while applying for other jobs.  When you are laid off, you have no job and have to start over.  When you have to close your business, you have a no job and have to start over… but you also likely have rent payments, equipment leases and other burdens to take care of.  Its not easy… nor should it be.

But the reason most of us share a dream of striving for our own success is that we know what its like to fail or are deathly afraid of finding out.  The reason we understand the value of a dollar is that we know what its like to be broke, or how hard it is to get the next dollar versus how easy it is to watch them go.  Its not supposed to be easy.  But success would not be possible without the potential to fail.

If I didn’t have to close my business, what incentive would I have had to cut expenses, trim the fat or start something new?  If I was prevented from failing, I’d still be going deeper into debt, spinning my wheels and getting nowhere.  What good would that do for society?  What good would that do my family?

I’m sickened by what I hear and read.  I’ve complained before about people gaming the system to get a better mortgage.  Now even the mainstream press has caught on.  The San Fransisco Chronicle asked if you are an idiot if you keep making your payments.  No, I’m not an idiot, I just have integrity.

Maybe I’m the only one.

The graveyard of capitalism is littered with companies whose time was up.  Whether their ideas or their industries failed doesn’t matter… they weren’t able to adapt and change and now they are gone.  Why should today’s auto industry be any different?  Why is your home mortgage any different?  What kind of precident are we setting when we bail everyone out?  Is personal responsibility dead?  If so, what does that say about the American Dream?  What about our nation’s future?

What incentive does the next company have to do things better, or cheaper, or more efficient when the old guys are propped up and prevented from failing?  What incentive do you have to pay your mortgage when they guy down the street stopped only to be rewarded?  Why did my wife and I use our hard earned money to buy our interest rate down while there others who haven’t worked as hard are getting their rates lowered for free?

This bailout nonsense can not continue to go on.  Can’t people see its only getting worse?  I’m sorry if the auto companies fail, but you have to think management and the strangehold of unions was to blame.  I’m sorry if some other company fails… but its not the end of the world.

So what happens when you can’t pay your mortgage?  You lose your house.  That’s how it should be.  You are not a failure and you shouldn’t be ashamed, but you should grow up.  Take your licks, have some responsibility, and understand that free markets have to be allowed to work.  Remember when times were good?  Remember that dream of ultimate success?  None of it would be possible if you couldn’t fail.

Have too many people gotten into too much debt and failed to save?  Absolutely, and I’ll be the first to raise my hand.  And now I have to dig myself out.

Isn’t that what everyone should be doing?  Isn’t that the lesson we should send to our children?  Shouldn’t we suffer the effects of our excesses so we don’t repeat our own mistakes?  Or as a nation have we chosen that the goal of success isn’t important if failure is at risk?

This nation would have never been formed had the founders been afraid to fail.  As a people how can we continue if there is no prospect of success?

His Fight Is Our Fight

Got half an hour on your hands between drinks and election results?  If so, you might want to check out this video of Ronald Reagan.  Listen carefully.  The fight he spoke of then sounds remarkably like the fight we face today.  Against socialism.  Against nanny government, and higher taxes that oppress those it claims to support.  Against an evil terror and all those who fight against our way of life.

May God Bless Ronald Reagan.  May God Bless the United States of America.  Never forget.  His fight then is remarkably similar to our fight today.

The “Audacity” of “Socialism”

Zomblog has done the work that the MSM failed to do, and obtained the first issue of the Weather Underground’s newspaper, Osawatomie.

The parallels between this and Barack Obama’s rhetoric are striking.  The logos even bare some resemblance (with a similar symbol on the cover of Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn’s next book).  Read the post for yourself and make up your own mind.  But please, read it and think about it before you vote.

Glenn Beck Interviews John McCain

Glenn Beck interviewed John McCain this afternoon on the radio.  It was a great exchange.  Socialism, The Fairness Doctrine, Judicial appointments and more.  Read the full transcript here.

Redistributor In Chief T-Shirt

Barack Obama has a history of supporting socialist policies.  From discussing the “redistribution of wealth” and so-called “economic justice” to telling Joe the Plumber he wants to “spread the wealth around” it is clear Obama is a socialist.  John McCain is now rightfully saying Obama wants to be the “Redistributor in Chief”.

Stop Obama.  Vote John McCain and get your Redistributor in Chief T-shirt.

Finally, hard questions for Obama/Biden

I wish I could give an accurate hat-tip for this, but I don’t know where I saw it first.  So many right of center bloggers linked to this, that I’m probably wasting my time linking to it as well.  Still, it needs to be shown.  Finally, someone has the courage to ask real questions of Joe Biden, who seems obviously annoyed by having to answer anything but softballs.

A guess there is at least one journalist in America with their integrity still in tact.

Joe Biden - Best. Interview. Ever.

Just Words: How Peggy Noonan Left Ronald Reagan

In a president, character is everything. A president doesn’t have to be brilliant; Harry Truman wasn’t brilliant, and he helped save Western Europe from Stalin. He doesn’t have to be clever; you can hire clever. White Houses are always full of quick-witted people with ready advice on how to flip a senator or implement a strategy. You can hire pragmatic, and you can buy and bring in policy wonks.

But you can’t buy courage and decency, you can’t rent a strong moral sense. A president must bring those things with him. If he does, they will give meaning and animation to the great practical requirement of the presidency: He must know why he’s there and what he wants to do. He has to have thought it through. He needs to have, in that much maligned word, but a good one nontheless, a vision of the future he wishes to create. This is a function of thinking, of the mind, the brain.

Those are words penned by Peggy Noonan.  Very few would apply those three necessary tenants to Barack Obama.  Courage, decency, strong moral sense?  Voting present 130 times or lying about their record doesn’t make someone courageous.  Throwing the race card around doesn’t make one decent.  And palling around with America-hating racist Jeremiah Wright for 20 years, unrepentant terrorist William Ayers who wished he bombed more, or a convicted felon named Tony Rezko doesn’t usually accompany someone with a strong moral sense.  Courage, decency and a strong moral sense do accurately describe both John McCain and Sarah Palin… but Ms. Noonan has besmirched them and seems to endorse what they are not.  While we fight Islamic terrorism abroad and a socialist rebuilding of America at home, Ms. Noonan has abandoned her tenants of “courage, decency, and strong moral sense” to wage an attack on Mrs. Palin and the rest of us real conservatives in America… from her lofty perch we are nothing but the new “vulgarization in American politics.”

And Ms. Noonan isn’t the only one.  In light of McCain’s deficit in the polls, many so-called “Conservative Elites” are jumping ship and hitching themselves to the Obama Train.  Ronald Reagan might be rolling over in his grave.  Forgetting his 11th commandment, these so-called Conservatives are eating the party alive and abandoning whatever is left.

They don’t like Sarah Palin, or that Ayers was brought up, or whatever… maybe they are just charmed by Obama’s ability to deliver a speech, or are afraid they too will be tagged as a racist.  So they abandon any conservative ideals they have held over the years and hang their hats with a liberal extremist who seeks to reconstruct American in the vein of Karl Marx.

And I say good riddance.  I respect Ms. Noonan’s eloquence as much as anyone… but we are rebuilding this Republican party after the election, regardless of the outcome.  And we only need the faithful being part of the process.  I’ll trade you one elitist columnist like Peggy Noonan for a liberal statesman like Joe Lieberman any day.  At least Senator Lieberman has convictions.  It takes courage to have convictions.  Those who think values can be changed like an old pair of shoes need not apply.

And before you think I’m going off in left field, let’s remember why Ronald Reagan, the standard bearer of the modern Republican Party, joined the party in the first place.

When Ronald Reagan was an actor in Hollywood, like most other actor-types, he was a Democrat.  But once he turned down a movie roll he was offered after figuring out that it would bump him up to the next tax bracket.  If that happened, he would only take home 10 cents on every dollar he earned, the other ninety cents going to pay taxes.  Why should he work for only 10% of his salary?  It was that realization that caused him to drift towards the Republican party, and he became a case study on the “progressive tax system” and how it discourages success.

Yet that very idea of penalizing and thus marginalizing success is the “spread the wealth around” socialist fight we are seeing in Obama’s campaign today.  This election has lasted too-long and President Reagan’s name has been mentioned too often.  But this time it fits.  This was one of Reagan’s causes… his very purpose for becoming a Republican.  And Ms. Noonan and other so-called “Conservative Elites” have defected from that very crucial fight.

So be it.  This is supposed to be a country of citizen servants, not career politicians.  If the Washington intelligentsia have lost all precepts of “we the people” than the Sarah Palins and Joe Plumbers of the world need to stand up.  Its time we take our country back.

This is the greatest country in the world not because people like Peggy Noonan tell us it is, but because people like Sarah Palin make it so.  They rise from the PTA to take on big oil and shake things up.  Its the way the founders intended.  Don’t let the Noonan’s of the world fool you.  Their inner beltline cocktail parties or Ivy League educations don’t make them more apt to deal with America’s problems, it just makes them arrogant enough to think no one else can.  And that is why they have failed us all.

It is ironic that the Washington Post editorial board disparaged John McCain for picking a Vice Presidential candidate not ready to lead while proclaiming Barack Obama somehow is.  Put their educations and passports aside and what do you have?  A Governor who has real accomplishments, who has achieved more than her resume would suggest… or a Senator who has never achieved anything, whose only accomplishment has been the nomination itself.  I’ll take the person who strives for greatness and gets results over the empty suit who thus far has failed to earn the sacrifices of those who paved his way.

Greatness is not eloquence or an Ivy League education.  Greatness is showing up and having the courage to fight.  Greatness is having values and ideals that you hold through difficult times instead of philosophies that change whenever the winds of hope blow.

This is not a leader, this is a follower, and she follows what she imagines is the base, which is in fact a vast and broken-hearted thing whose pain she cannot, actually, imagine. She could reinspire and reinspirit; she chooses merely to excite. She doesn’t seem to understand the implications of her own thoughts.

Those are words Ms. Noonan wrote about Sarah Palin, yet those are words she need apply to herself and not the Governor from Alaska.  Sarah Palin has been without healthcare, has worked her way up, has juggled two family incomes and raising kids while making a real difference in America.  Since leaving the speechwriters circle, all Ms. Noonan has done is write about those things.  Ms. Noonan “cannot, actually, imagine” the pain and difficulty of real Americans who she considers “vulgar”.  Nor is Ms. Noonan a leader of the Conservative movement.  She is just another snobbish elite who thinks she is knows better than the rest of us.  That, my dear, is the first step towards socialism.  So I guess its fitting she seems to follow what she imagines is the hope for America in Barack Obama… too bad the rest of us see him for what he really is, the harbinger of Marxist change.

Good bye Ms. Noonan, the Republican Party didn’t leave you… you left us, just when it was time to fight.  Ms. Noonan used to cherish character above all.  Or were those just words?

The Audacity of Asking a Question.

The left has taken it upon themselves to destroy Joe The Plumber for having the gall to ask a question of “The One” that pointed out Obama’s socialist philosophies.  And don’t think the Obama Campaign is innocent in the character assassination of Joe… Obama and Biden both questioned Joe’s authenticity yesterday and some members of their campaign were on tv questioning everything from Joe’s name (Joe is actually his middle name) to his tax lien.

Joe has a tax lien?  Shocking. There are millions of small businesses, self-employed tradesmen, independent contractors and skilled laborers in this country.  Show me someone trying to achieve the American Dream through their own hard work, and I’ll show you someone likely to have a tax lien.

According to the The E-Myth Revisited most small business people fail twice before succeeding in business.  And many people like Joe have an income that is likely volatile based on the economic activity in their community and demands for their services.  I wouldn’t expect some Harvard educated lawyer whose never made a payroll to understand… but most small business and contractor income is volatile.

I spent years helping people with their mortgages and finances.  Many of them were self-employed, small business owners, tradesmen working for someone else or paid via 1099.  It wasn’t at all uncommon for them to have tax liens, a late payment here or there, or a bankruptcy in the past.  And you know what they all had in common?  They took risks and worked hard for themselves to achieve their idea of the American Dream.  They didn’t apologize for striving for success, even though they knew failure was always a possibility.  They worked hard for their successes, risking a lot to get there.

Funny, people not paying their mortgages are the new heroes in America… but someone who has a tax lien is a villain, destroyed for simply asking a question.

Joe The Plumber has a tax lien.  That makes him real, and goes a long way in pointing out the ridiculous complexity and burden of complying with the current tax code.  Barack Obama’s plan will only make it worse, and more expensive.  Why is it the left chooses to crucify this guy?  Why do they believe his tax lien disqualifies him from having a voice in America?

I find it astounding that within a day or two of becoming a household name, Joe The Plumber has been researched and talked about by the media and the left more than the Democratic nominee has.  We still don’t know much about Obama’s time at Columbia and we are told by the media not to question his ties with unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, American-hating racist pastor Reverend Wright or convicted fellon Tony Rezko… yet its okay to destroy Joe The Plumber simply for asking a question?

Joe isn’t running for President, he just asked a question.

Barack Obama and his campaign showed up in Joe’s neighborhood.  Joe had the audacity to stand patiently in line, hoping to speak with “The One”.  Obama stopped at Joe, Joe asked his question, and Obama gave a socialist answer in response.  It was Obama’s answer that started the firestorm.  So what is the left to do… destroy the questioner.

It is despicable, and it shows you the hatred and contempt the left has for anyone who questions their chosen One.  This thuggish mob mentality of destroying anyone in opposition is frightening.  It’s probably a good thing Joe had a tax lien, otherwise the left would have resorted to calling Joe a racist.

All Joe did was ask a question, Barack Obama answered it.  It was Obama’s answer that caused the problem, because it pointed out who Obama really is.  How dare they destroy Joe because America doesn’t like Barack’s answer.

The message is clear, question Barack Obama at your own peril.  They will demonize you and try to destroy you.  Thanks to these horrible actions by the left and the media, it is quite likely that the next Joe The Plumber will stay home and not risk questioning Barack Obama.  Why would they? The media won’t question Obama about his socialist welfare tax plan, so without people like Joe who will be left?

Poor Joe.  He did his civic duty of being informed and asking questions.  And now the left destroys him.  Joe’s son has been watching all of this and is learning a very valuble but unexpected lesson.  Don’t dare question the left.  Just sit back, fall in line, and do what the Marxist Obama and his Lemmings tell you to do and think how they tell you to think… otherwise you will be destroyed.

UPDATE: Michelle Malkin has a great piece on this.  And guess what, they already are calling Joe a racist.

UPDATE: There’s another great post about this at Betsy’s Page:

What the left doesn’t understand is that Joe’s personal background doesn’t matter at all. What matters is Obama’s answer. And when asked about how Obama’s tax plan would affect a small businessman earning over $250,000, Obama said that it was time to “spread the wealth around.” And it turns out, as James Pethokoukis points out, that overwhelmingly most Americans aren’t in favor of redistributionist tax policies. But Obama revealed that his instincts are, as he told Charlie Gibson in the Democratic debate, to tax wealth as a matter of “fairness.”

So on the way to the coronation of President Obama, one ordinary guy asked a question that made Obama look bad. And the response by those on the left is that this guy Must Be Destroyed. And both Democratic candidates look for easy jokes about what type of plumber earns $250,000. They are tone deaf to the idea that Joe was asking a question about his dream, a dream that many people share of working hard and building up a small business.

What’s Wrong with Fighting for Plumbers?

And another “Joe The Plumber” for McCain.

Elect Joe The Plumber

After tonight’s debate, we had to offer these two t-shirts to our visitors.  Your choice this November is crystal clear.  You can support the real engine of our economy, the middle class, or you can support big government and redistribution of wealth.

If you support the middle class, American workers and entrepreneurs, get this Elect Joe the Plumber T-Shirt.  Joe understands what so many in Washington don’t, that higher taxes and government spending hurt real Americans.  And Joe did something Conservatives have been trying to do for over a year, point out the socialist policies of Barack Obama.

If you support big taxes, big government and “spreading the wealth around” get this Senator Government t-shirt and support socialism and Barack Obama.  Barack Obama wants to help all of the people “behind” Joe, but he’s policies won’t help for long.  Redistribution of wealth stifles creativity and hard work and rewards mediocrity.  Barack Obama’s tax and spending plans will cripple America and make our current economic troubles permanent.

The Commissar Cometh

Don’t ever strive for greatness.  Don’t ever try to get ahead or make your own American Dream.  If you do, you will end up like Joe Wurzelbacher, and some Marxist will come take your money away.

Read this interview with Joe the Plumber, a good American who just wants to work his way up, earn a living, and keep what he earns.  Joe asked Barack Obama a simple question… one of the many simple questions the Mainstream Media refuses to ask… and Joe accomplished what the media refuses to do.  He exposed Barack Obama for the Marxist that many of us have been screaming about for over a year.

I owned a small mortgage company.  A few years ago we would have fallen into Mr. Obama’s higher tax bracket.  Of course once you took out payroll, benefits, rent, utilities and office expenses, etc… there was no where near $250,000.00 left.  My take home was substantially less, but we still made it, and I was proud to have employees, offer benefits, and help people in their quest for the American Dream.

And what I understand that Barack Obama and all of his Lemmings who have never made a payroll don’t understand is that there is a fine line between making it and breaking.  Most small businesses run efficiently because every dollar lost is a dollar out of the owner’s pocket.  Every lost sale is tangible.  It might mean less for Christmas, it might mean someone gets laid off.  It might mean borrowing money just to keep the lights on.   The tax payments and regulatory responsibilities of any small business are a nightmare and a huge expense… caused by bureacrats who have no clue what its like to run a business, but want to tell you how anyway.  Add an additional tax or administrative nightmare and thousands of small businesses will break.

Eventually we broke anyway, even without Obama’s tax scheme.

The housing market got too sour for too long and we couldn’t afford the continue putting good money after bad.  Even though the office is now closed, I’m paying back personal loans that I took out to keep it afloat.  I don’t believe in handouts and won’t file bankruptcy.  It was my business and my debts, so I’m paying them off best I can.

And I don’t want a handout.  I don’t want a bailout.  I don’t want to take money from someone else’s labor.  When my business was successful, I enjoyed the fruits of my labor.  And while I am not responsible for the housing or credit crisis… I’m not crying foul that my fortunes have changed.  That’s how it goes.  You take the good with the bad, try to make good decisions, work hard, and hope you are a little better off at the end than when you began the race.

I was Joe The Plumber, now I am the guy behind him.  And I wouldn’t have it any other way.  How dare Barack Obama want to steal Joe’s wealth and redistribute it to people like me?  Joe’s fortunes are presently better than mine, but that is not his fault.  Why should he be penalized for success?  And what incentive would I have to get back to Joe’s status if I could stay where I’m at and collect the spoils of his hard work?

The Commissar Cometh.  And he’s going to take your wealth away.  The way to pick people up is not to give them a handout, its to encourage their hard work.  America’s greatness can be directly attributed to its reluctance to follow socialist ideals.  When Commissar Obama takes your wealth away, the American Dream will also be lost.

Spread the Wealth Around

I don’t have to tell you Barack Obama is a socialist when he comes right out and says it himself.  When a plumber asked Barack Obama about his tax plan increasing the plumber’s taxes, Barack Obama tells him he wants to “spread the wealth around“.

Redistribution of wealth.  Socialism.  You don’t get to keep what you earned because the government deems someone else deserves it more.  HOW DOES THE ENCOURAGE INGENUITY, EFFORT, OR SUCCESS?

Besides the fact that “spread[ing] the wealth around” does not encourage hard work or success and is by its very nature socialist… Obama’s logic is incredibly flawed.  Obama says he wants to redistribute this guy’s wealth, not to penalize him, but to help all of those behind him so they too can be successful.  But this guy’s success is proof positive that they don’t need the help.  With their own efforts and a bit of luck, they too can be successful.  This plumber didn’t benefit from some government handout that took money from someone else to enable his success.  So why do the people “behind” him need it to achieve the same level of success?

Its typical class warfare with a blatant socialist agenda.  Its wrong, and it doesn’t work.  Obama might try to claim he’s moderate or mainstream, but the proof comes out from time to time when he lets his guard down.  We’re already sliding down the slippery slope towards socialism, we don’t need a Marxist president to speed up the process.

Dedicate yourself to working long and hard for the things that are important to you.  Take responsibility for your own actions and act accordingly.  Those are the ideals that made American great while socialism led each of its followers into inferiority or collapse.  Is that what you want for the future of America?

Scared Yet?

Camp Obama and more Obama Youth.  Scared yet?

The radical socialism has been spreading like a cancer in America.  On November 4th, it might gain a foothold so entrenched that we can’t cut it out.  Stand up America, read the first link, watch the video, watch the other creepy video.  Welcome to ObamaNation.

VIDEO QUESTION: Is the “Alpha Omega” that the “troops” are chanting referring to the chapter of a fraternity or the real “Alpha Omega”, as in God?  The first is harmless enough I suppose although… the second is something much more insidious.  “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”

UPDATE: Mark Levin understands what we are facing.

If we don’t engage now, four and a half weeks out, then when are we going to engage? When it’s too late? I can hear the calls when they start passing this crap [that Obama wants]: “Mark, what can we do?” You can’t do anything. Don’t you see? It’s rigged. The courts no longer uphold the Constitution and limit the power of the elected branches. The elected branches keep pushing people onto the courts who will support what they’re doing. The Constitution is being shredded every single day. You’re losing liberty every single day. What do you want me to do? What can I say? If you’re not going to get engaged, no matter what kind of stupid comments John McCain makes… If you don’t get engaged — not for John McCain, for yourself, for your children, for your future — then what can I possibly tell you?

I’m going to be honest with you, when I drive around my neighborhood, I see these Obama stickers everywhere. It’s like being in Peking — I guess they call it Bejing now — when Chairman Mao was around. The photos are everywhere, the stickers are on the cars, the signs are on the lawns… What the hell is going on here? And a lot of you look at that and say, “Oh. It’s over.” I look at that, and you know what I say? It’s only over if I let it be over. They only roll me if I let them roll me. Screw their yard signs. They’re still driving around with Kerry/Edwards stickers on their cars, and they’re proud of it, these morons.
