Rick Davis, Jim Johnson and Fannie Mae

Aided by the New York Times with a spectacular piece of pathetic journalism, the Obama campaign has been trying to link McCain to the Fannie Mae problem, because one of his advisers, Rick Davis, had once done lobbying work for Fannie Mae.  The Times and the Obama campaign even assert that Davis made some money from Fannie over the past year, which the McCain campaign sharply rebuts.

The Times and Obama fail miserably at this pathetic hit job. Davis has not been a lobbyist since 2005 and has not received profit from his company since 2006.  Furthermore, Davis’ lobbying efforts didn’t cause Fannie Mae to fail.  Jim Johnson is another story all together.

Jim Johnson, to this day, is an adviser to Barack Obama. Jim Johnson was once the CEO of Fannie Mae, and made over $20 million for his work there and a sweetheart mortgage deal from CountryWide while leading Fannie Mae into disaster (at the expense of the American taxpayer).  Johnon pathetic management and potentially fradulent activites at Fannie Mae are partially responsible for the mess we are in now.  Yet Obama continues to call on Johnson for advise on how to deal with this crisis.

Furthermore, Barack Obama received over $120,000 in campaign contributions from Fannie/Freddie, averaging more than $30,000 a year.  John McCain received contributions from them too… at less than $1,000 per year.  As they say… follow the money.

Captain Ed has a great post at Hot Air comparing the relationships of both these men to Fannie Mae and the current presidential campaigns.  Rick Davis is not even remotely equivalent to Jim Johnson nor is there any evidence that Rick Davis is offering advice on the housing and economic crisis to John McCain.  Can Johnson and the Obama campaign make a similar claim?  Not hardly.

Personal Responsibility, Rest In Peace

The death of conservatism? The death of capitalism? The death of free markets or deregulation?

I’ve heard it all, but none of it is true. Certainly we are mourning loss in our country, but its not capitalism, fiscal conservativism or even the banking industry that has died. We have lost something much more important to the foundation of our society. We should have seem it coming, for the better part of a century its been dying a slow death. But with the proposed bailouts and political posturing across both sides of the aisle… now talking about adding credit card debt, student loans and car notes to the bailout mix… it is unquestionably dead.

R.I.P. Personal Responsibility.

Is the bailout right? No. Is it necessary? Maybe. Would I vote for it? No. If you don’t have your principals in a crisis, then you are not very principled at all. In fact, I would suggest that your principals are more important in a time of crisis where you can’t see the valley through the trees and you need some guidance. It is then, when you are lost, that it is even more important to have something to rely on, something to lead the way.

Whether you are the homeowner struggling to make a mortgage payment, the recent graduate burdened with thousands of student loan debt, or the Chairman of the Senate
Banking Committee who has taken $160,000+ from Fannie and Freddie and obstructed multiple attempts to fix the system… where is your personal responsibility?

If you are the guy who voted four times for infanticide and supported a bill with sex education in kindergarten… why aren’t you standing up for your votes and ideals instead of lying about them and lying about the people who reveal them? Where is your personal responsibility?

If you are the guy who was for amnesty, and then wasn’t, and then kind of is again… who sought nuance and a bit of vacillation over the past week regarding the economy, where is your personal responsibility?

Of course I know the answer to that, its loss has affected virtually all of us and permeated our daily lives. Personal responsibility is dead, and liberalism killed it.

Arguably it started during the “new deal” maybe it was before. But for the better part of a century, personal responsibility has been sick, and now it is gone.

Need to save money for retirement? The federal government will take some of your money every month and then give it back to you when you need it.

Need help because you lost your job? The government will take money from all employers and then pay you when you find yourself out of work.

Get hit by a hurricane? The government will give you money, aid, and even a place to live for years because its better for them to give you everything than for you to do for yourself.

Want to take advantage of all of the wonderful blessings in our country… its ok to come here illegally, if you don’t break too many other laws, we won’t consider you a criminal.

Shall I go on?

What happened to our country? We are a nation of pioneers, which started in a tax revolt, which sought to overcome the burden of a large government and gain religious freedom. Yet in 222 years, we have become exactly what we left… an over-taxed, over governed people where religion (at least Christianity) is persecuted and must remain hidden from public view at all costs.

When I played high school football, we worked hard to get to the playoffs every year. One loss or one tie against a division rival, and we might not make it to the post season. Now, every team in the state goes to the playoffs so nobody feels left out, even if they lost every game.

The college I graduated from allows first year students to have a course expunged from their record if they fail. It is erased as if it never happened, so go ahead skip class and enjoy college life.

The Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee (the same committee that writes tax code) has been cheating on his taxes for a decade or two. Yet he gets to keep his influential place of power, and gets a slap on the wrist. Listen to him, and he’s the victim even though he committed the crime.

Don’t like your mortgage? It’s the lender’s fault.

Home lost value? It’s the realtor’s fault.

Don’t want to pay your credit card debts? You don’t have to.

Don’t want to pay your student loans? That’s ok too.

Want to go to college? The government will give it to you for free.

Want health care? They’ll give that to you too.

Underwrite bad loans… the government will bail you out. But it didn’t start or stop there. If the customers who took out the loans were responsible for their debt and didn’t take on more than they could afford, we would not have that problem in the first place.

A government that gives you everything can take everything away. But the overbearing government isn’t the only problem with that statement. If the government gives you everything, then you are responsible for nothing, and that lack of responsibility permeates the rest of our lives.

Why are we so upset when a CEO gets a golden parachute to leave a failed company when we expect homeowners to get bailed out of a mortgage they can’t pay? What’s the difference? It all amounts to personal responsibility. And in the United States of America today, personal responsibility is gone.

Dirty Politics

The right side of the internet is erupting with disbelief and condemnation of the Obama ad that pitches John McCain as out of touch because he “can’t use e-mail.” Of course he can’t use e-mail, he can’t type. He can’t type because he spent five years in a Viet Cong box being tortured as a POW. Much different life experience than a guy who travels to Bali to write one of his two autobiographies by the time he’s 44.

Did Obama’s campaign think about this ad and air it anyway, knowing that John McCain is not capable of typing? Or are we supposed to believe that once again he made a mistake but really didn’t mean to insult anyone? Just like the lipstick on a pig thing, either we are supposed to believe Obama is making stupid mistakes (and thus not ready to lead?) or he is making calculated and under-handed attacks at his opponents?

I’m starting to wonder if the later is true. Just like the lipstick thing, there is enough plausible deniability to say that he didn’t mean it that way. Obama can say that with this ad, he was just trying to point out that McCain is out of touch. But what he’s really trying to say might be something entirely different.

If Obama is the great genius that the media wants to portray him as, and if he runs his campaign well… the campaign he claims as his executive experience qualifying him for President… then you must believe he knew or should have known that John McCain can’t type. Not knowing shows poor judgment and poor management of his campaign and message.

So if he knew… then why release the ad?

Dirty Politics.

Why not remind everyone of John McCain’s age… and oh yeah he’s kinda-sorta disabled. And how can a semi-disabled senior citizen lead the country? Isn’t it too much on his plate? Just like a mother with five children can’t possibly have the time or energy to lead our government, how can some old guy who can’t lift his arms?

The ad gets people talking. The media can defend Obama and dismiss this as a mistake and not an attack, meanwhile it gives them carte blanche to question whether McCain is too old or too injured to do his job. Of course he is plenty capable, just like a mother is capable of working and still being a mom… but that isn’t how it will likely be spun or talked about around the water cooler. And that may have been the point all along.

Disgusting. Despicable. Certainly not the “politics of change”. But I bet you a dollar someone, somewhere, in some secret meeting in the Obama camp thought that. And if so, it is further proof that the last place that man deserves to be is the White House. This isn’t new politics… this is personal, dirty, attack politics. And its the worse kind. You really want to attack a guy who can’t type BECAUSE HE WAS IN A POW CAMP FOR FIVE YEARS DUE HIS SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY?

Mr. Obama, if your campaign is proof of your ability and judgment to lead, you just lost.

Mr. Obama, if your character is what we are supposed to judge you on, you fail.

Mr. Obama, if this is the brand of change you offer, then we are not interested.

And if anyone who has ever talked to a veteran or lent a hand to someone disabled still votes for Barack Obama after this… they have lost their mind.

There is a pattern here. Incompetence. Arrogance. Mean Spirited and Petty Attacks.

Judgment to lead? Hardly.

Message to Barack, its over.

… or at least it should be. The elitism, the ego, the sense of entitlement… its all gone to far. Think about it… do you really want this guy to be President?

One of two things happened today. Either Obama implied Governor Palin is a pig, or he is too stupid to realize that is what it sounded like. Either way its shows he is an elitist chauvinist who clearly doesn’t have the judgment to lead. He also implied that John McCain was a smelly old fish… which gives further credence that the “pig” line was referring to Palin.

From Politico:

Amie Parnes reports from Lebanon, VA:

Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin’s new “change” mantra.

“You can put lipstick on a pig,” he said as the crowd cheered. “It’s still a pig.”

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

“We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”

OF COURSE the crowd got the joke… the pig was a very loosely veiled swipe at Sarah Palin, and the old fish at John McCain. So in one speech he managed to make a potentially sexist and unquestionably low attack at Sarah Palin and further attacked John McCain’s age.

And before all my lefty friends get on here and cry foul and I’m being too Politically Correct, take a second a look in the mirror. If John McCain had interjected some Curious George reference in his stump speech you would all be calling him a racist.

There are two choices. You can take Obama at his word that he wasn’t actually calling Palin a pig, but if that’s true then he just became the dumbest campaigner on the planet… because the crowd obviously thought he was talking about her, and so do must intellectually honest readers/listeners.

On the flip side, you can choose not to believe him. In that case he was actually calling Palin a pig and McCain a smelly old fish. Is that the kind of talk you expect from the harbinger of change and potentially the next Commander-in-Chief?

But, the snobbish attacks didn’t end there. In the same speech he also took a side swipe at Palin about her five kids

Obama added that “it is not going to be easy … John McCain has a compelling biography, you know Sarah Palin is an interesting story.”

The crowd booed.

“No, she’s new!” Obama said. “She hasn’t been on the scene, you know, she’s got five kids and my hat goes off to anybody who’s looking after five. I’ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out!”

I’m sure the point of that little commentary is that if two kids tire Michelle and Barack out, how will Sarah possibly be able to take care of 5 (much less one that has Down’s Syndrome) and run the VP’s office. Only true Lemmings will believe Obama wasn’t making a jab at Palin with that remark.

So there you have it, sexist, chauvinistic, demeaning, and ageist attacks from the supposed candidate of change. I’ve got some change for you Barry, enough to buy you a train ticket back to Chicago. We’ve had about enough.

Polls don’t look good, the campaign is getting desperate and apparently Obama is just falling apart. If this is how he acts when the campaign isn’t going his way, how will he react at a time of real crisis? Its time for Barack Obama to hit the road. He’s definitely not ready to lead.

Links from both sides at Instapundit.

Victor Davis Hanson also noticed the entire quote with both the “pig” and “old fish” references. I wish more people would pay attention to that. This line from Obama was no accident, and people need to take the whole quote in context to fully appreciate that.

UPDATE 9/11/08:
I’m so sick of some media members telling me emphatically that Obama was not talking about Sarah Palin. They love their Great One, and he says he wasn’t, so he wasn’t. I guess in their pursuit of a journalism degree, they never took and English lit or poetry classes… classes which teach you about analogies and allusions. Hoda Kotb, Katie Couric, Campbell Brown, et all… I’m not stupid and I DID TAKE IT IN CONTEXT. CLEARLY Barack Obama was talking about Sarah Palin as the “pig” and John McCain the “old fish”. Clearly he was saying they are more of the same and comparing them to Bush. You apologists have no credibility left. We all know that. So how dare you get on your high horse, call us stupid and say that there is “no doubt” or “no question” that he was not referring to Governor Palin. The only thing there is no longer any “doubt” or “question” about is why you people still have a job.

Yes you need to see/hear the whole thing in context and the media has been doing a horrible job in doing that. Leave off the old fish remark and there is some credible speculation about what or who Barry was referring to… but when you see the whole thing… the lipstick on a pig comment immediately followed by the old fish comment, and you consider what is certainly Governor Palin’s most famous line… you know exactly what Barry was talking about. Its too bad you people are so in the tank for him that you don’t see that.

The Great One without his teleprompter - priceless.

(While I can appreciate the man is probably sleep deprived (like every politician that has ever run for office), don’t rail Bush for his “Bush-isms” when Obama pulls one out in this priceless clip.)

New McCain T-Shirt Design

John McCain T-ShirtsOur newest John McCain for President T-Shirt design features his common star logo, but with a different twist.  We tried to make it patriotic, but also somewhat reminiscent of military ribbons to honor his service.  Check it out and let us know what you think.

There’s also even more bumper stickers in our Conservative Bumper Stickers section.  Quite a few people have been e-mailing and asking for specifics, and we’re doing our best to comply.  If you have any ideas for a bumper sticker or other design, just let us know.

Anti-Obama T-Shirt of the Day: iVote Present

While all the Lemmings are basking in the Obama victory in North Carolina yesterday, I want to remind everyone of this “inspirational leader’s” actual record on leadership. THERE ISN’T ONE.

Of course this criticism, like all of the many criticisms against Barack Obama don’t seem to stick because he’s the darling of the liberal media and gets a free pass on everything. And all the little lemmings continue to walk off the cliff.

Anti-Obama T-Shirt of the Day: The Obama Monster

It’s crossing our lands trying to destroy our country. It’s eating the minds of our young people, turning them into hapless sheep who have no clue about history, economics, or values. Its destroying the very threads of self-reliance and personal responsibility that are woven through the fabric of our nation and replacing them with socialist policies and empty promises while it stirs racial tensions, class envy and a societal divide. It makes countless attacks while claiming to be above reproach. But don’t point out its flaws or you will be deemed a divisive racist or worse before it tries to destroy you. It is the worst homegrown enemy our democratic and capitalist society has ever seen and it is about to take total control. It is the ObamaMonster… and you should be afraid.

Obama Monster
We must stop the Obama Monster before it is too late.

Anti-Obama T-Shirt of the Day: OVERRATED. No Hope, Just Hype

Have We Forgotten About Illegal Immigration?

Based on Super Tuesday’s results, apparently so. What happened? Are our memories really that short? Has the anger faded so quickly? Where is our country headed and where has our party gone?

Who would have thought national security and sovereignty would be nothing more than a fad?

The power of half.

Today, virtually half of the nation has the chance to do something for the country. Half of our country is called on to be patriots. Half of our citizens have the option of sacrificing a brief moment of their time and perform their civic duty for the greater good. Its Super Tuesday, and if you are in one of 24 states, today it is your right, duty, and it should be your honor to vote (24 states have primaries today with 43 primaries in total - 21 republican primaries and 22 democratic primaries).

Those who are so fortunate will be a part of something great. For today its not every vote that counts, its every vote in a little less than half of the country that matters. And that half will likely decide who our presidential candidates will be. It may not be over after tonight, but it will be a lot closer. Half of the populous gets to be heard while only a few already have been. The rest of us may not even matter. I won’t. In North Carolina our primary isn’t until May 6th… by then this contest will likely have come to a close. I hope not, but history is not in my favor.

And those in that half that care about our country and the purpose of its founding… those that value smaller government, lower taxes, personal responsibility and free will… those that think we are in a monumental fight against Islamic extremism and terrorists who seek to destroy our next breath… those of you who want to protect our borders, our sovereignty, and our honor…. I beg of you to vote for a true Conservative in this race. We have to take our country back before we lose ourselves to socialism and global greed. We have to take our nation back before our sovereign rights and Constitutional guarantees are gone forever.

I can’t tell you who to vote for, but if you agree with the above than I can tell you who doesn’t deserve your vote. John McCain certainly does not. Mike Huckabee does not. Ron Paul does not. Obviously Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama do not.

That leaves only two choices:

  1. Vote against John McCain and cast your ballot for Mitt Romney
  2. Write-in Fred Thompson and send a message to the party and the American people that we want to return to our Federalist foundation and take our country back.

Ideally, I’d like to vote the later, but fearing a John McCain Republican nominee as much as any Conservative should…. if I were to vote I would probably vote Romney. Romney is the closest thing to a Conservative left in the race. He has the business and economic credentials to set our fiscal policy on the right track and he’s also closer to being the citizen servant that our founders envisioned running for office. He’s not a career politician who has spent decades attacking conservative ideals and he’s not beholden to special interests or politicians across the aisle.

He’s no Fred Thompson… but he’s no John McCain either. And for that reason alone, he is worthy of your vote.

Fred Thompson Statement

I haven’t been able to find a copy of the statement, but I heard one of the talking heads on FoxNews read a piece of it. They must be overjoyed knowing they had a hand in controlling the process. I still plan on voting for Fred in the primary, although now it will be by write-in. I encourage other FredHeads out there to do the same. I might write-in his name in the general election too, we’ll just have to see what happens between now and then.

Why Constitutional Ammendments Are Not The Answer.

Mike Huckabee has supported at least 3 different Constitutional Amendments during his campaign for the Presidency. He wants a Constitutional Amendment banning abortions, a Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage, and lately a Constitutional Amendment denying citizenship to people who were born here if their parents are here illegally. He apparently also wants to change the 16th Amendment as its current form would prohibit his Fair Tax proposal.

Let me make clear that I agree that we should stop abortions and that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. I also think that our current tax code needs to be repealed and something like a flat tax or the Fair Tax ought to replace it.

But agreeing with the principles does not mean I agree with the idea of Constitutional Amendments whenever we see a societal ill that needs repair.

Our country was founded to be a group of independent states that were joined together by a common defense and a restrained federal government that was representative of each individual state to act on behalf of the whole. It was formed like a co-op of businesses who group together to gain greater bargaining power, improved trade ability, and increased protection from external forces.

As such, our Constitution was written to grant only a limited number of necessary powers to the federal government, retaining most of the powers and rights to each individual state. That is why our union is called the United States of America. Even in our name we proclaim the value and power of the individual state.

It is with that history and those principles of limited federal government in mind that while I support stopping abortion I reject the idea of proposing a Constitutional Amendment at this time to do so.

It is liberal idea to increase government powers and write new laws to regulate behavior. It is a liberal idea to legislate in order to prevent activity. It is a liberal mindset that thinks the answer to all ills is increased legislation and a reduction of state’s powers and personal liberty.

Just because I agree with a principle doesn’t mean I agree with the means. Suggesting Constitutional Amendments to correct every principle we hold dear will lead to an even stronger federal government and a weakening of states’ rights. And what happens when our principles are in the minority? Once we have set a precedent to use Constitutional Amendments to correct everything we think is wrong… what happens when people we disagree with are in the majority and create their own Amendments to protect against us?

A true conservative does not suggest a Constitutional Amendment to solve every problem, because a true conservative is serious about limited government and reduced federal powers. No matter how bad Huckabee and others want to convince you otherwise, the term “conservative” means something, and a limited federal government is at its core. Its not lip service, and its not something that can be dismissed on a whim… limited government is the central ideal on how all issues should be addressed.

Its sad that Mike Huckabee himself and his surrogates have misrepresented Fred Thompson’s view on abortion and same sex marriage because he holds to his conservative principles. Its even more sad the many people calling themselves conservatives didn’t see right through it.

Fred Thompson wants to stop abortion, protect the traditional definition of marriage, secure our borders and fix our tax code. He just doesn’t want to sacrifice his principles and our Constitution to do so.

Make no mistake, the liberal precedent of legislating every issue is what needs to be stopped. Just because we like the issue doesn’t mean we should turn a blind eye to the method. Anyone who doesn’t consider that before suggesting changes to our laws or Constitution is no conservative.

Fred Thompson is the only conservative in the Presidential race tonight. I pray that statement holds true tomorrow. The others remaining are unacceptable on the premise of conservatism and unworthy of our nation’s highest post. And if we lose candidate Fred Thompson tomorrow because of this money and media controlled process, than it is Conservatives and our Constitution that have truly lost.

Conservatives, Its Time to Speak Up,

Mark Levin has written a wonderful piece about John McCain and why Conservatives need to speak up now. Below is an excerpt, read the whole thing here.

There are other reasons to speak out now, and loudly, against a McCain candidacy — before it is too late for the movement and the party. Do we conservatives believe in the Constitution or not? Do we believe in as much open political speech as possible or not? The McCain supporters rightly point out that free speech has never been a pure principle. But wild swings of change, aimed at empowering the federal government (or more particularly, incumbent politicians) against citizen activism prior to an election, is exceedingly imprudent. And prudence is a hallmark of conservative thought, or at least used to be. McCain-Feingold is without question the greatest assault on free political speech since Buckley v. Valeo, and is far more draconian. And, once again, McCain’s rhetoric as its leading advocate was dishonest. He repeatedly used the word “corruption” to describe those “forces” who aligned against his effort. As with Rumsfeld, he targeted a member of the Federal Election Commission, Bradley Smith, for disdain and worse. McCain filed a brief in the Supreme Court with several Democrats against the Wisconsin Right to Life organization challenging its right to run informative ads prior to an election. Wisconsin Right to Life won. Ironically, as best I can tell, this is the most aggressive action he has taken in all his years in Washington on the right-to-life issue, which probably explains why the vast majority of these groups have endorsed other candidates. The point is that McCain’s easy disregard of first principles, in this case political speech, runs deep with many conservatives and is not easily downplayed. (And the fact that President Bush signed the bill is no justification.)

Much has been written about the three legs of the conservative movement and how Mike Huckabee’s campaign has resonated with the family-values folks. Well, he doesn’t appear to have won over a majority of those voters. But I’ll leave that for another day. Much has been written about the national-security leg of the movement, including by VDH (albeit with its selective attention to aspects of the McCain record). But not enough attention is given to the economic leg, which has much to be concerned about in McCain. Some define McCain’s as a spending hawk for his efforts in ending earmarks and opposition to certain spending programs. But the McCain record is much more than that. As mentioned earlier, the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill was among the most irresponsible and reckless budgetary and economic legislative efforts of all time. Moreover, McCain has repeatedly demanded that federal power be used to tame perfectly legitimate private enterprises, from energy and pharmaceutical companies, to media companies and anything else he considers “corrupt” or “the enemy” or what have you. And as I first noted here, McCain’s claim during recent debates that he opposed the 2001/2003 Bush tax cuts because Congress refused to cut spending is highly misleading. Time and again McCain resorted to class warfare propaganda, asserting that he opposed the tax cuts because they “favored the rich.” He has embraced the same approach in the McCain-Kennedy-Edwards bill, a phony “patients’ bill of rights” that would essentially empower further the trial bar to sue insurance companies and other businesses involved in the provision of health care, including employers. And his “re-importation” of drugs position, which he claims will reduce the cost of prescriptions in our country, comes straight from Hillary Clinton’s heath-care task force. He would drive much needed research and development from those American companies that are inventing and producing most of the world’s life-saving and life-extending drugs.

McCain’s position on the environment is every bit as radical as any of the most liberal Democrats in the Senate. He would empower the federal government to regulate and tax the private sector in ways that it has never before. He is convinced that man is responsible for global warming, such as it is, and consequently the federal government must act to control man. McCain has proposed everything from a massive database of carbon emitters, capping carbon emissions, trading carbon emissions, taxing carbon emissions, and so forth. Of course, like most big-government politicians, little concern is paid to the Constitution or economic outcomes, including forcing more smoke-stack industries and their jobs offshore.

Has The Red Truck Been Parked?

I’m concerned. I just popped by Fred08.com and the Red Truck is gone from the front page. With the calls for donations not as pronounced on the front page, is the only worthy man in the race actually calling it quits? I hope not. I sincerely hope not.

If Fred decides to hang it up, then I fear all is lost and the Reagan Coalition that has been talked about so much in recent weeks is truly dead. There is no one left to carry the mantle for true Conservatives in 2008. No one left worth fighting for who will fight for us.

Its sad. If Fred is gone then the win goes to the media and the liberals. We’ve let them dictate what’s relevant. We’ve let them decide what’s important. We’ve let them control the debate and alter the original intent of our democracy. Friends, we have had one man in the race, Fred Thompson, who stands for what the framers stood for and if yesterday was his last stand than we have all let him and our country down.

With Duncan Hunter gone and now possibly Fred, the only people left are liberals verging on socialism, and liberals disguised as republicans. Either way, our country and its greatness are in peril. Never before have our ideals been challenged on so many fronts. From the war on terror, to socialized health care, to abortion, gun control, an overwhelming tax system, illegal immigration, an overbearing government, attacks on the institutions of family and marriage, the economy, and a collapsing federalist system… we are at a crossroads on multiple fronts.

Obama and the democrats are right… we do need change, but not the kind they are proposing. We don’t need to continue to venture down the dismal path of socialist propaganda, populist policies, or government theft of wealth, loss of responsibility and hope. What we need is to return to the ideals of which our country was founded: limited government, self-determination, personal responsibility, local governance, the rule of law, and inalienable rights as given by God All Mighty. Unfortunately, if Fred is gone, there will be no one left in the race who believes any of that.

The remaining choice will be between wolves or wolves in sheep’s clothing. Either way we’ve lost.

I pray today as I did yesterday and the day before… let a good man help take this country back in the direction it needs. Let us elect someone who can face our challenges on all fronts and bring us from the brink of societal collapse. Fred Thompson is the only man with the courage, character, consistency, and commitment to bring us there. I hate that we might have lost our chance.

Fred, please stay in the race. We need you.
