This has reached a new low. Now, according to some schmuck writing editorials for the Kansas City Star, the word “socialist” is racist.
I don’t care whether it was a code word for “black” in the twenties… I think we could probably even debate that fact… but its certainly not a code word for “black” now, and never once did John McCain or Sarah Palin use it as such. A journalist with integrity would be required to point that out… but who thinks any liberals in the media have integrity anymore. Writing on the editorial page does not give one cover for hateful and inaccruate slander.
Redistribution of wealth or “spread[ing] the wealth around” is socialist. Calling a socialist a socialist IS NOT RACIST. It’s free speech, and accurate speech at that.
If Obama is elected President, what world will you wake up to on November 5th? If Obama and his surrogates don’t counter every criticism of him as racist, pathetic losers like Lewis Diuguid of the Kansas City Star and the rest of the liberal media will. The damaging and dangerous aspects of this election is not speaking truth to power and calling Obama’s socialist policies what they are… the damanging and dangerous aspects of this election are the fevered heights, hateful retorts, and downright lies waged by Obama’s campaign and the media running his defense.
Enough is enough. Obama is a socialist. And if Mr. Diuguid or anyone else thinks that makes me a racist… to paraphrase your buddy Obama… I want to see you say it to my face.
Barack Obama continued with the lie that has spread like wildfire through the press. But according to the Secret Service, it just isn’t true.
The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.
The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.”
News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.
Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.
“I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.
He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.
Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell “kill him.”
“We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”
It was yelled by one audience member at an earlier rally about unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, and clearly not directed to Barack Obama.
“And, according to the New York Times, he [referring to Ayers -- P] was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” [Palin] continued.
“Boooo!” the crowd repeated.
“Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.
The Mainstream Media and Barack Obama’s campaign continue to perpetuate this ridiculous lie. Don’t you think the Secret Service would be rounding people up if they were calling for Barack Obama to be killed publicly? This claim is ludicrous and after last night’s debate, Barack Obama personally owes a public apology to the McCain Campaign and his supporters.
Much more from Patterico, hat tip Michelle Malkin.
…
Is it right to yell “kill him” about the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers? No, but that’s a far cry from saying it about a Presidential candidate. Ayers is a vile, evil man who rightfully should have faced the death penalty for his actions with Weather Underground. But he got off on a technicality. We don’t exercise vigilanty justice in this country. But that doesn’t mean we should allow our President to associate with such evil people.
The fact is that Barack Obama would likely not pass the background check to be a TSA screener much less have the nuclear codes thanks to his lengthy relationship with William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Reverend Wright, Rashid Khalidi, and others.

A READER AT A MAJOR NEWSROOM EMAILS: “Off the record, every suspicion you have about MSM being in the tank for O is true. We have a team of 4 people going thru dumpsters in Alaska and 4 in arizona. Not a single one looking into Acorn, Ayers or Freddiemae. Editor refuses to publish anything that would jeopardize election for O, and betting you dollars to donuts same is true at NYT, others. People cheer when CNN or NBC run another Palin-mocking but raising any reasonable inquiry into obama is derided or flat out ignored. The fix is in, and its working.” I asked permission to reprint without attribution and it was granted.
If you’ve been paying attention, the talking point of the week was that people opposed to Barack Obama are racist. You’ve heard it before, but this week there seemed to be a concerted effort of the Obama campaign to play the race card. Apparently he doesn’t really want to talk about the issues… it’s all about race.
Ohio Representatives Bab Hagan and Tom Letson continued the trend this week:
They argue many voters who call themselves “Democrats” or “Independents”, but won’t vote for Obama, have only one excuse, with Letson saying, “I would say that a lot of it is they’re not going to vote for ‘the black guy’”.
Hagan called the issue “unpatriotic,” adding those not willing to vote for Obama need “to face that fact. That that’s not acceptable in America.”
So let’s see, that makes it: Joe Biden, Kathleen Sebelius, Jack Cafferty, some bufoon from Time Magazine, and two Ohio Representatives that have blatantly stocked racial flames this week. I’m sure there have been plenty more.
Couple those with Barack Obama’s hispanic targeted ad despicably twisting Rush Limbaugh’s quotes into a racist smear and you see that the Obama campaign clearly doesn’t care about “issues” or “judgment”… all they want to do is play the proverbial race card and smear the opposition while trying to guilt people into voting for “The One”.
As Barack Obama said himself, “enough is enough!” Will the media ever call him out for his low-level campaigning, lies and vile tactics, or will the double standard continue?
As we have detailed time and time again, there are countless reasons to disagree with Barack Obama that have nothing to do with the color of his skin. Its a shame his campaign and the media want to dismiss those issues and instead choose to stoke racial tensions. So much for “hope” and “change”.
Anyone have Charlie Gibson’s e-mail address? I’d sure like to send him a copy of this. After framing Sarah Palin as a relgious zealot and misquoting her in his interview, it would be nice to set the record straight and frame Governor Palin’s response AND prayer in the proper context.
Excellent video. H/T: Instapundit
Are we fighting a Holy War? Against the media? Maybe So.
Charlie Martin is keeping a running list of all the Sarah Palin rumors and putting them to rest once and for all. Check it out if you are interested. There’s currently 69 rumors listed, I bet it tops 100 this week.
I’m still wondering when a major news outlet will do the same thing (not holding my breath). Seems they all jumped at the chance to discredit any little rumor about Barack Obama yet they don’t even bother to correct themselves when they are caught spreading the lies about Governor Palin.

And here’s the B-Side.
Last week, Democratic Presidential Hopeful, Barack Obama penned an editorial that was published in the New York Times. Republican Presidential Presumptive Nominee, John McCain submitted his own in rebuttal, but was rejected by the Times.
The entire editorial, in its submitted form, is available via Drudge.
I’m glad Obama is finally going to Iraq to assess to facts on the ground. Thankfully Barack Obama is a “new kind of candidate” who doesn’t play politics with something as important as the war. And thankfully we have professional American media outlets who practice nothing but the highest caliber of journalism and strive to cover this historic political contest in a fair and balanced manner.
Oh wait…. none of that is true… except that Obama is going to go to Iraq… finally.
This was a topic this evening in the American Elephant household, and unbeknownst to us, it was also the subject of conversation for a few minutes on Rush Limbaugh’s program today.
We’ve been warning of it for a long time, and what we’ve seen over the past week or so might just be the tip of the iceberg. The Obama Lemmings, the main stream media, and the liberal lunatics are painting anyone who doesn’t like Obama as a racist neanderthal. That’s what the New Yorker cover really did, satirizing the evil right wing’s view of Obama… and in a broad stroke it dismissed all criticism of the Obama Snob, right or wrong.
Pay careful attention. From his campaign’s handling of Hillary and Bill Clinton, to their handling of the Rev. Wright situation… from Jesse Jackson to Rezko, to the New Yorker Cover and Michelle Obama not being proud of America… the masses are slowly (and likely deliberately) being brainwashed into thinking that all criticism of Barack Obama is from stupid evil racists.
Before too long, if not already, all criticism of Barack Obama will immediately and automatically be dismissed as propaganda from evil conservative racists. Consider it the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, part two. The liberal media has already fallen in line, all that’s left is to convince the electorate. And you thought we weren’t running against a Clinton.
Here is the second Anti-Obama T-Shirt of the Day as promised. PHONY. Fake. Insincere. Hypocrite. Obama 08.
The Kentucky Brochure and the suspect timing of the John Edwards Announcement only add fuel to the fire that many of us have been feeling about Obama for a long time. This “hope” and promise of “change” and a “new candidacy” is all a fraud, just like everything else related to Obama. America deserves better, and he’s not it.
Barack Obama’s stance against wearing an American Flag lapel pin is pretty well known. It’s not that he doesn’t support America he says, but he doesn’t want to use the flag for political gain or as a substitute for patriotism or the war. Symbols don’t equate to actions, or so his theory goes, and it seems the flag means more than just wearing it on your lapel to make a statement.
So while he won’t use the American Flag to advance his political career, he doesn’t mind using the Cross, a symbol of Jesus and the Crucification to Christians. And that appalls me.

So basically, its ok to use Christ for political gain, but not the American flag? To all those people who gave Huckabee flack for the political ad with the supposed subliminal cross in the background… where are you now on this?
To me its pretty simple. Its ok to use the cross for political gain but not the flag if you are Barack Obama. Thus the cross is less important (or sacred) to Barack Obama than the flag, and we all know how little he likely feels about the flag (based on his wife’s and pastor’s comments). Just another example of political opportunism, hypocrisy and lies from Candidate Obama. So much for change.
at least according to John Kerry. Nothing like using tragedy to promote your own agenda. Who needs facts when when you have unproven theory and scare-mongering fears of global annihilation.
Relatively, we haven’t been recording weather events for all that long in our history. However, it would seem that devastating tornadoes have been around longer than automobiles, airplanes, aerosol cans, and 2-ply toilet paper have been threats to our environment.
So unless these were all caused by Cow Flatulence, global warming is not the cause of devastating tornadoes. There have been many other horrible tornadoes besides the ones listed up through today. It happens, and its not a pleasant experience, but to use the death and destruction caused by a naturally occurring weather phenomenon to prop up your own agenda is dishonest and despicable.
See the quote at the end of the article:
Kerry’s assertion tornado activity is related to any type of climate change is questionable based on the writings of at least one meteorologist. Roger Edwards, a meteorologist at the Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Center in Norman, Okla., has doubts about any global warming and tornado relationship.
“As of this writing, no scientific studies solidly relate climatic global temperature trends to tornadoes,” Edwards wrote on the Earth & Sky Web site in April 2007. “I don’t expect any such results in the near future either, because tornadoes are too small, short–lived, hard to measure and count, and too dependent on day to day, even minute to minute weather conditions.”
John, here’s an idea… keep your mouth shut and stop trying to be relevant. You’re not. Its over. Time to Move On.
Oh, and I suppose the “Global Cooling” that we were supposedly threatened by in the 70s was responsible for the 1974 Super Outbreak of 148 tornadoes in 13 states that killed 315 people and caused over $600 million in damage.
I’m sorry that more than 50 people were killed and countless more lives were forever changed in the tornadoes on Tuesday. Any loss of life due is a sad and tragic event. But let’s not stand on the shattered houses and the memories of those who were lost in order to advance an agenda that at the best is factually unproven and more likely completely false.
I’m tired of people preaching to me about Global Warming. It interests me that the same people (i.e. Liberals) who want tolerance for *anything* and want you to be open-minded about *everything* want to silence you if you disagree with them. Liberals support freedom of thought and action, so long as it is not contrary to their narrow view of the world. Less than half of all scientists believe in man-made global warming according to a recent survey… yet liberals would have you believe that man-made global warming is conclusive fact, and anyone who denies it is tantamount to denying the holocaust.
I do not deny the holocaust. I do deny global warming (at least the man-made kind) is fact, and apparently so do half of the worlds scientists. And for all the people out there like me, here’s the t-shirt. Maybe I should send one to 60 Minutes and another to Al Gore?
