As if it wasn’t bad enough with the attacks from the liberal media and the leftist lemmings, now “anonymous sources” from within the failed McCain campaign are attacking Sarah Palin. It sounds like a bunch of middle school bullies who are bitter because they were picked last for kick ball or something. Losing sucks, but we’re supposed to leave the classless bullshit and juvenile attacks to the Kos kids and the rest of the left. That’s not our MO… or it shouldn’t be.
And FoxNews… FoxNews? After patting yourself on the back for being so balanced during the election… which you actually were… now you bring this junk out? Supposed “anonymous sources” are throwing Sarah Palin under the bus and you are reporting every sexist nonsensical claim. Come on.
Journalism really is dead in this country, and FoxNews drove the final nail.
I don’t mind criticism of policies or differences of opinion, but anything less than that better have someone with the courage to go on the record. Failing that, then consider this garbage what it is… garbage, not worthy of your highest rated audience.
Let me give you a clue. At the best these are people bitter they are lost. Maybe they are ill that their guy wasn’t chosen for VP. I wouldn’t put it past Romney or Huckabee backers to be sandbagging Palin now to keep her stock down for the 2012 fight. Maybe Fox is just willfully playing along, already picking sides in the 2012 fight and eating the hand that fed it so well.
At least someone at Fox got it right… Greta is ticked, as she should be. Unlike these other so-called journalists, Greta actually went to Alaska, knocked on doors, interviewed the Governor, her supporters and detractors. Greta has reported on both positive and negative things about Sarah Palin and left this petty schoolyard crap to the sideline… primarily because it wasn’t there but also because the motivations for such nonsense are clear. People are either bitter they lost or are posturing for the next campaign… either way there is a vested interest for some to make these ridiculous claims, so they threw the first punch.
Want to know why the American people have left the party in droves? This might be the perfect case study. We are supposed to be different than the other side… but lately we look anything but.
…
Governor Palin, my wife and I drove over four hours to see you speak. When John McCain was 45 minutes away, we stayed home. I respect John McCain’s service a great deal and we would have been remarkably better off with him in the White House. But, John McCain is not the voice of the Republican Party or the Conservative Movement. That mantle could very well belong to you. Stay strong, and when necessary stand up and fight. Republicans and Conservatives need more voices like you as we start to refocus and rebuild our party. God Bless you and your family for all you have endured.
“Together we can protect the values this great nation was built upon.”
Get out and Vote. We need you! Let’s make history.
Drudge says the Zogby has McCain up by one in its latest poll (that will come out tomorrow). Its getting tight folks, and we need everyone to keep up the fight. Call your friends, talk to your neighbors, volunteer, blog, donate, write the editors of your paper… AND GET OUT TO VOTE. If you haven’t voted yet, make sure you vote. This is going to be a tight election. Don’t take anything for granted. Every vote counts.
The Obama campaign shut down a station in Florida for asking tough questions, they shut down a station in Philadelphia for the same thing. They kicked three newspapers off the campaign plane whose editorial boards endorsed McCain. They haven’t encouraged the LA Times to release the video of Obama at a dinner with Anti-Israel and former PLO supporter Rashid Khalidi. They called taxes patriotic and just today said that people who don’t want to be part of a socialist tax system are “selfish”. The truth about Barack Obama is finally coming out, and it isn’t pretty.
We have a chance to save our nation this Tuesday. We can not give up the fight. Four years is a long time to regret your decision. Get informed, get involved, and vote John McCain.
We can win this fight.
In light of Barack Obama’s latest sexist attack, the McCain-Palin campaign issued the following press release from Women for McCain and former Hillary Clinton supporters.

…
ARLINGTON, VA — McCain-Palin 2008 today released the following statements from former Hillary Clinton supporters and Women for McCain leadership in reaction to Barack Obama’s sexist attack ad “His Choice”:
VIRGINIA
Judy Black, National Co-Chair, Women for McCain: “Enough is enough! Senator Obama has stooped to a new low in his constant attacks on Governor Palin with his new ad titled, ‘His Choice.’ Barack Obama’s choice has been to attack, demean and ridicule women, first Sen. Clinton and now Gov. Palin. American women do not need any more of Obama’s sexist choices or attacks. John McCain made the choice to put a strong leader with a proven record forward as his running mate. As a woman, I am outraged by the over-the-top treatment of Gov. Palin and I urge all women to reject the double standard put forward by a man who was just a state senator in Illinois three years ago by voting McCain-Palin this Tuesday.”
Patty Denton, Washington County Republican Chairwoman: “We, as a country, should be past the days in which women were treated as inferior. Women are the backbone of this country. It’s disappointing for Senator Obama, who has proclaimed change’ as his mantra, to disregard the monumental progress women have made in this country. Governor Palin is an exceptional leader and has fought on the side of all Americans, regardless of race or gender. These types of ads show that the Obama campaign is willing to do anything to score a few political cheap shots at the expense of women. On November 4th, women will go to the polls and demand respect for themselves and their daughters from the type of negative attacks perpetrated by Senator Obama.”
MISSOURI
Representative Jo Ann Emerson: “With more executive experience than Barack Obama and Joe Biden combined, Governor Sarah Palin holds her own on the national scene and embodies the values that Americans want in those who will lead our country. This ad is just one more example of the constant attacks from the Obama-Biden campaign. With each attack, they attempt to dismiss the intelligent, qualified, and experienced woman who will soon become our next Vice-President of the United States.”
Sharon Barnes, Missouri State Chair Women for McCain: “These attacks on Governor Sarah Palin show the desperation of the Democratic Party to try to stem the overwhelming support for the maverick Republican team of John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin - a team dedicated to bringing about the right kind of change for the people of this country. The voters of this great nation will not be fooled. Gov. Palin is a proven leader and serious reformer with experience in economics, defense and foreign policy that the Democratic candidate for president can only wish he had.”
CALIFORNIA
Shelly Mandell, President of Los Angeles chapter of the National Organization for Women: “I am outraged by the new ad put out by Barack Obama. It is sexist and demeaning to women. These tactics started with Hillary Clinton and continue, growing even more disgusting with Gov. Palin. I was a Hillstar for Hillary and an avid supporter. Trashing two women clearly in a sexist manner in one election is an outrage and must be identified and stopped. There must be consequences. Let female Obama supporters take a good look at this and still believe their candidate supports women’s rights and women’s dignity.”
Prameela Bartholomeusz, DNC Platform Committee Member: “I am once again stunned at the personal and sexist attacks by the Obama campaign against Gov. Palin. This latest ad is sexist and offensive. The Gov. of Alaska has been managing and balancing a budget of $10 billion; I think she knows a bit about economics. Sen. Obama never spoke up against sexism during the primary season, and is not speaking out against misogyny during this phase of the election season — he is contributing to it. I have no confidence that Sen. Obama will fight for women’s issues if elected. This sets women back decades.”
PENNSYLVANIA
Christine J. Toretti, PA Women For McCain Co-Chair, PA National Committeewoman: “Vice presidential running mate, Sarah Palin, is an experienced public servant. As governor of Alaska and as mayor of Wasilla she proved to be an effective leader and businesswoman. Senator Obama’s baseless attack on Governor Palin is preposterous. God forbid a leader is not only competent, but beautiful and wears a skirt!”
Bernie Comfort, Pennsylvania Women for McCain State Chair: “Senator Obama’s ad simply mocks Governor Palin. The real truth is Gov. Palin has experience dealing with the economy as an executive running the state of Alaska and as a business owner. She is the experienced leader we need to lead this country with John McCain.”
Stephanie Bressler, Ph.D, Hillary Clinton supporter, University of Scranton women and politics professor: “It’s a sexist example of reducing a woman to an object - a wink - and denying her a voice. Her lips are actually moving, but she’s not allowed to be heard.”
OHIO
Barbara Rosier-Tryon, Member of the Warren Republican Women’s Club: “This is yet another sexist cheap shot on Gov. Palin’s image from the Obama-Biden campaign. Sarah Palin’s record of reform and experience as governor of Alaska and commander of the state’s National Guard is more distinguished than Barack Obama’s one and only term in the U.S. Senate.”
NORTH CAROLINA
Martha Jenkins, North Carolina Women for McCain State Chairman: “Barack Obama chose Joe Biden to make up for his own lack of foreign policy expertise. He has absolutely no reason to criticize McCain’s pick of Palin. Gov. Palin is infinitely more qualified than Barack Obama. In running this ad, Obama is acknowledging that Gov. Palin is an effective and a positive part of John McCain’s candidacy; otherwise, why focus on her at all? Barack Obama is using this ad to divert attention from the fact that the American public is realizing that Obama is just as radical as his associates, and that he lacks the experience and judgment to be President of the United States.”
FLORIDA
Albert Chang, Regional Director of Citizens for McCain, a group that includes Democrats and Independents: “We look forward to winning Tampa and the surrounding counties for McCain-Palin. This ad is a distracting personal attack on an experienced executive and the voters of Florida will see through it. This campaign will remain focused on issues impacting the everyday lives of Floridians and Americans.”
Mary Calderon, Tampa, former Senator Clinton supporter: “I’m disappointed that Senator Obama has resorted to personal attacks at this point in the campaign. Would any male candidate for vice president of the United States be afforded similar treatment by the Obama campaign? I would say not.”
INDIANA
Judy Singleton, Indiana Women for McCain Co-Chair: “Obama seems to have a problem with strong, smart women. Ask Hillary. Running an ad like this is an affront to talented women everywhere. To imply that Gov. Palin doesn’t understand economics because she’s pretty and winks is ridiculous. As a governor, she’s proved she understands the economy better than Barack Obama, who hasn’t completed his first term in the Senate, does. All one has to do is look at her record of leadership on economic development and then look at his.”
NEW YORK
Amy Siskind, Ambassador for Hillary: “When Senator Hillary Clinton was demeaned and degraded during the Presidential Primary, many of us of, myself included, vowed ‘never again’. The treatment of Governor Palin by both the main stream media, and now the Obama Campaign, shows that the misogyny fest is alive and well in our country. There has been a complete and utter smear job of our fellow citizen, Sarah Palin, who is only trying to serve her country.”
I mentioned this video about a month and a half ago. In light of this BBC New article about the video, and the election coming to a close, I thought I’d embed it again. Made by a veteran of the war who has something to say about Barack Obama’s comments and the sacrifices of our soldiers. Watch the video, then vote McCain.
Glenn Beck interviewed John McCain this afternoon on the radio. It was a great exchange. Socialism, The Fairness Doctrine, Judicial appointments and more. Read the full transcript here.
Charles Krauthammer is honest and eloquent. He hasn’t been the biggest John McCain or Sarah Palin supporter, but he understands what’s at stake in this election and takes to task fair weather conservatives for jumping ship.
Who do you want answering that phone at 3 a.m.? A man who’s been cramming on these issues for the last year, who’s never had to make an executive decision affecting so much as a city, let alone the world? A foreign-policy novice instinctively inclined to the flabbiest, most vaporous multilateralism (e.g., the Berlin Wall came down because of “a world that stands as one”), and who refers to the most deliberate act of war since Pearl Harbor as “the tragedy of 9/11,” a term more appropriate for a bus accident?
Or do you want a man who is the most prepared, most knowledgeable, most serious foreign-policy thinker in the United States Senate? A man who not only has the best instincts, but has the honor and the courage to, yes, put country first, as when he carried the lonely fight for the surge that turned Iraq from catastrophic defeat into achievable strategic victory?
There’s just no comparison. Obama’s own running mate warned this week that Obama’s youth and inexperience will invite a crisis — indeed a crisis “generated” precisely to test him. Can you be serious about national security and vote on November 4 to invite that test
There’s more, and its good.

Great ad. I too am Joe the Plumber. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m a recovering mortgage broker. Once employing 15 people or so, and now on my own in a new industry. I have seen both sides of Obama’s mythical $200,000 or $250,000 tax line. Not in take home pay… not even close… but in business income. And according to smart people at the Wall Street Journal and others, I would have had to pay Obama’s rich tax. Now, as I start a new business from scratch and reset my career, I guess I would get his hand out.
I DON’T WANT EITHER.
I don’t want welfare or a handout. I see the burden such programs put on small businesses. Once we had a few employees, I spent the majority of my time dealing with regulations and licensing and compliance with this bureaucracy or some law. Even at our most prosperous, I had to juggle our business income to meet payroll and health care, unemployment taxes, matching taxes, and all of the expenses associated with running a small business that employed a few people.
Even if I didn’t understand the burden of jumping through the government hoops to run a business, I would still be opposed to Obama’s socialist welfare scheme. I was raised to work hard for what you want and need. There are no barriers that you cannot overcome and no reward you cannot achieve. Giving people who don’t pay income taxes a handout attempts to void that argument.
Joe the Plumber has not asked for nor does he expect a government handout to reach his dream. The very idea of the American dream is you can do it with your own sweat and tears. I too am Joe the Plumber and I stand with him. We need less government interference or handouts to succeed, not more.
Don’t give me a hand out, just get out of the way. America will be better off for it.
Sen. John McCain enjoys overwhelming support from the military’s professional core, a Military Times survey of nearly 4,300 readers, indicates, though career-oriented black service members strongly favored the Democratic Party candidate.
McCain, R-Ariz., handily defeated Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., 68 percent to 23 percent in a voluntary survey of 4,293 active-duty, National Guard and reserve subscribers and former subscribers to Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times.
Military Times goes on to say the respondents of their survey is skewed to higher ranking military officials and not as diverse as the military population as whole, still the gap in the poll is astounding. Even if you polled ever service member, certainly the gap would close that much.
Military Times goes on to point out that President Bush hasn’t hurt military support for the GOP, or at least John McCain.
“A lot of people thought that eight years of frustration with the Bush administration was going to undermine that,” he said. “This evidence suggests that it hasn’t undermined it as much as they thought, at least not yet.”
Officers and enlisted troops, active-duty members and reservists, those who have served in combat and those who haven’t, all backed McCain by large margins, to about the same extent they supported President Bush four years ago.
Who is better equipped to judge the character and readiness of the Commander-in-Chief than the troops who will serve under him? In light of Joe Biden’s recent comments, I think it is as clear as ever that we can not ignore international threats when making our decision November 4th.
I grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina, just a stone’s throw from the Atlantic coast. The following letter to the editor appeared in The Jacksonville Daily News, and I think it bears repeating.
To the editor:
Last night I had an epiphany. The great Barack Obama will part the waters of this financial sea and lead us all to prosperity. He will heal the sick and insure the able-bodied and their children. I will be able to join the rank and file of the Obamaites and worship with them en masse - almost like those believers in the 1930s in Germany.
I saw huge crowds of glassy-eyed believers marching in step with a man of little substance but great charisma telling us all the good things we want to hear. He will take from the rich scoundrels and redistribute that wealth to those who cannot or will not work for or support their country.
The great Obama will cast aside those whose guidance he sought in his early years and become the messiah we have all prayed for. He will stop all wars, personally find Osama bin Laden and heal this country with his eloquent speeches - even though he lacks leadership experience.
He will correct all the evils and cast out the sins of the Bush administration. We will all receive rose-colored glasses and drink from the well of happiness; never again will we want. No wife will ever be battered again, no child abused or uneducated. The homeless, the criminal, the insane will be allowed to vote Democratic whether they are eligible or not.
I realize John McCain probably doesn’t have those qualities. I mean, his grandfather was a distinguished admiral, his father a distinguished admiral; John McCain himself was a captain in the Navy and decorated Vietnam prisoner of war, squadron commander and U.S. senator with years of experience.
Now, as for the Great Obama, he has a background of being the son of a man who had many children by various women and a mother that was a free spirit flitting around the world. Barry, as he was known, is now Barack and blessed as the savior of our country. His use of drugs as a youth must have given him insight that those of us who didn’t do drugs will never have. I’m especially proud the media hasn’t dug into or highlighted his past and that the Hollywood heroes have all thrown their support behind him while vilifying McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin. That would only tarnish the great Obama and cause some people to really think before they vote.
Uh-oh, I’m awake! That was no epiphany; it was a nightmare. Please, people, compare the records of McCain and Obama - their personal records, their experience and past indiscretions. McCain and Palin are not the dolts that the national media is doing its best to portray them as. Four years will be a long time to regret your decision.
Tommy Thompson
Jacksonville
You wouldn’t think those words would be necessary in Jacksonville, North Carolina. As home of Camp Lejeune, one of the largest (if not the largest) amphibious military bases in the world and home of the “Expeditionary Forces of Readiness” people in Jacksonville of all places should understand the gravity of this election. With no member of the community untouched by the costs of war, it would be reasonable to assume they wouldn’t support a guy who said our troops were air raiding villages and killing civilians or dying in vain. But the costs and utter exhaustion caused by the war are high, and military families can’t escape the economic crisis either. Military towns find times especially difficult, as they aren’t just hurt by low stock prices, low home prices and frozen credit, but at any given time hundreds of normal participants of the local economy are overseas.
The anguish and exhaustion of the war has given rise to the “glassy-eyed believers” who so desperately want relief. Unfortunately, their blind hope is misplaced. Its utterly ridiculous to think a guy with no experience, socialist tendencies, and radical ties will be the Savior to calm all our ills. Studying history is not just an academic exercise, we actually learn from the past. And when you look at Obama’s past, the potential problems of his candidacy are apparent. He has never shown he has the judgment or integrity to lead.
As Mr. Thompson pleads, everyone needs to pay attention to the history of both men. There won’t be any do-overs or second chances. “Four years is a long time to regret your decision.”
