Treasury Secretary Geithner just started a press conference talking about “trust and confidence” and how imperative it is that the American people have “trust and confidence” in the agencies that regulate and oversee them, and in the CEOs running companies that receive[d] bailout money.

The full Senate just approved Timothy Geithner to be the Treasury Secretary by a vote of 60-34. Sixty Senators approved this guy who perpetrated a fraud on the IRS or wasn’t smart enough to understand tax policy… to lead the IRS and our financial system.

Barack Obama’s cabinet and administration is starting to shape up, and the cast of characters is interesting indeed. Thank God President Obama pledged unparalleled transparency for his administration because everyone is going to need to keep a close eye on this bunch.
