Candidate Obama promised that all bills would be online and visible to the public for a minimum of five days before signing them into law. President Obama has done no such thing. Candidate Obama promised no lobbyists would work in his administration. President Obama hired scores of lobbyists to work in his White House. Candidate Obama campaigned against President Bush expanding the powers of the Executive Branch. President Obama has appointed 32 Czars to expand his powers and avoid Congressional oversight. Candidate Obama promised not the raise any taxes on the middle class, but his plans for Cap and Trade, Health Care and a whole slew of other programs are going to squeeze the middle class like never before.

President Obama said if we didn’t pass his stimulus bill immediately unemployment would rise higher than 8%. After passing it, unemployment is almost at 10%. President Obama promised to have the most transparent administration ever, yet the White House visitors list is secret, and the press has to sue to get such simple things as photographs of Air Force One. Obama now says that his health care plan will save money, but the Congressional Budget Office and others say it will only drive our nation further into debt.

Apparently you can become overweight as easily as you catch a cold. In fact, according to a study, you can become fat because you caught a cold. If you catch it, the virus AD-36 can cause your fat cells to replicate, turning six packs into sixteen extra pounds as if by magic.

In an age when no one takes responsibility for anything, its good to know there is science to reinforce that an increasing waistlines is not your fault. Of course some scientists also believe in global warming… we had six inches of snow last week that might refute that.

So forget about that New Year’s resolution and feel better about canceling your gym membership. You’re not fat, you’ve got a cold. Now get the t-shirt and smile about it.
