Will it ever be enough?

I’m watching the news, listening to the radio, reading papers, and I’m dumbfounded… simply dumbfounded.  And I’m scared.

Even someone with a gambling problem eventually has to say “enough”.  But I guess it’s different when you are playing with someone else’s money.  Instead of saying enough, politicians in Washington are saying “not enough”.  $350 Billion wasn’t enough.  $700 Billion wasn’t enough.  A Trillion isn’t enough.  Two Trillion isn’t enough.  It’s not enough to bailout Wall Street or bailout the Auto industry.  It’s not enough to bailout lenders and homeowners and student loan holders and first time home buyers.  It’s not enough to nationalize the banks, socialize health care, or destroy the very essence of personal responsibility and free enterprise.  It’s not enough to politicize the Census or start a massive wellfare program.  Its never enough.  It doesn’t matter that the Federal Reserve is printing money on an exponential level, that they are killing the very essence of freedom and capitalism in our country, or that socialism is on the rise and democracy is taking its last breath.  Its not enough.

Not until Washington says so.

And I wonder, when will it ever be enough?  When every American has a government job and is told exactly how they are to contribute to society, will that be enough?  When our car payments and mortgage payments are mailed to the Treasury Department, will that be enough?  When our paychecks are first sent to the White House and they decide how much we deserve to get sent back (if any), will that be enough?  When we have to petition the federal government to have elective surgeries, some bureaucrat decides if we can have chemotherapy, or some commission tells us when we can have a child… will that be enough?  When we all have the Obama logo tatooed on our forehead, will that finally be enough?

Wake up America.  Even during Obama’s Porkulous Stump Speech in Florida today he said the problem was people borrowing too much money.  So what’s his solution?  Borrow more money.

The subprime market and housing bubble was created by government telling lenders how to do business.  Pretty much everyone agrees that the housing bubble and subprime collapse precipiated this economic crisis we are all now facing.  So what is the government’s answer?  Tell lender’s how to do business.  And since that worked so well the first time, they are also going to tell doctors how to do their business, car companies how to do their business, energy companies how to do business, and American citizens how to live.  If you are not frightened, you don’t know your history.  If you are not saddened, you’ve never read the Constitution.  This isn’t American, it isn’t even a serfdom… this is economic slavery and something much, much worse.

And still, some in Washington don’t think its enough.
