With the media and the leftist lemmings setting up a case that any supporter of McCain is a racist who is spoon-fed lies from Fox News… this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Tensions are heating up. I hope this is an isolated incident… but thanks to the dialogue and race-baiting from the left, I’m worried we’ll see a lot more of this regardless of the outcome. If Obama wins, his critics will continue to be demonized. If McCain wins, it will be because racists and FoxNews stole the election. Either way, I don’t imagine the tensions will go away for a long time, and we’re likely to see more stories like this:
Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.

UPDATE: People are questioning this woman’s motives and are skeptical of the attack all over the “blogosphere” and the internet in general. I’m not going to get into that, but will follow up once there is some consensus from the police. Remember, people vilified the Duke Lacrosse players and it turned out they were innocent. So let’s not jump to conclusions on either side. If her account is real, the last thing this young woman needs is to have her story questioned and her life put under the microscope.
If this is a true account, then the tone in our country is frightening. If this was not a true account, that doesn’t change anything. Like a self-fulfilling prophecy, the results of this attack, hoax or not, will be the same and was created out of the same environment… one of rampant accusations of racism and divisive politics unparalleled in recent history. And they said the country was divided in 2000 and 2004.

UPDATE 2: According to FoxNews, police are now reporting that this is a hoax. I’m disgusted. As I stated above, either way this is bad, and the tensions will be ratcheted up. They were already at new heights.
This plays on the worst fears of both sides and creates more division amongst us. Either she was attacked because she was supporting McCain or she made it up because of some racist or anti-Obama bent. I can’t claim to understand why she did it, but it doesn’t help anything.
Just as I wish the Duke Lacrosse acuser was charged for filing a false police report, I hope this woman is charged with the same. Things are tough and tense enough without false accusations making it worse, and no one, man or woman, black or white, needs to be falsely accused of a crime.
