I just returned from protesting outside President Obama’s Town Hall meeting at Broughton High School in Raleigh, NC. Some MoveOn & Pro-ObamaCare protesters grouped up in the parking lot of Fallons Flowers, Anti-ObamaCare Patriots took up the rest of the streets. Along each sidewalk and each corner, the message was clear… we don’t want larger government… we don’t want higher taxes… we don’t want government health care.
The protest was civilized on both sides, except for the one lady on the opposite side who kept shouting “Loser! Loser!” and “Our President is in the White House, where is your President?” If she represents the intellect and maturity of the Pro-ObamaCare Movement, I’m even more glad to be on the other side.
NOTE: The crowd was large, diverse and very spread out. I think Wake County GOP did us all a disservice by encouraging protesters to go to the intersection of Sutton and Smallwood. There was nothing there, and many of us moved to the corner on St. Mary’s where all the action was. This isn’t about the GOP, the Republican Party hasn’t done us too many favors in recent years. Next time they try to direct Conservatives to a different protest location, I won’t listen. This was and always has been a grassroots effort… and today proved yet again that grassroots patriots are more in touch with our rights and the dangers we are protesting against.

Yet Another Update (Why Not?):
This post has taken some heat by a few immature commenters elsewhere online. They specifically question my use of the word “diverse” when referring to our crowd. This sickens me and is yet another example of the racism being spread on the left. Diversity is more than complexion. There were people old enough to be my grand parents and young enough to be my children. There were people who had protested before, and some who never held a protest sign in their lives. There were people who considered themselves members of every political party or no party at all. Likewise there were people of faith and likely those with none. And, if you can judge such things from visual observation… I’m sure there were people of virtually every occupation and every economic level.
I’m not sure how many that protested against ObamaCare were Black, which is what critics have jumped on… but to me that is irrelevant. I don’t judge people based on the color of their skin. I suggest my friends and critics do the same.

You’ll have to stop being an elephant. Nice pictures. I waiting for the other write-ups as well. I heard it was a very large crowd. Too bad I had meetings and that pesky work thing.
I’ll always be an elephant, just maybe one in exile… We can’t stop at throwing the bozos out of Washington, we need to get the trash AND RINOs out of the GOP too. Squishy Republicans are just as bad for the Republic as Progressive Liberals…. if they are not willing to fight for the values that our nation was founded upon, then they need to get out of the way.

Great job Randy. Next time there’s a protest I’ll have to track you down and say hello.
I agree AE, I’m meeting so many wonderful conservative men and women, I can only remember faces, but not so many names. Friends overload, what a great thing to suffer from
Great job Raleigh! Hope Obama see sights like this every where he goes. Obamacare needs to be defeated
No photos of the empty suit?
No Keith, my photos of the empty suit didn’t come out.
I hate it too, that was the best “sign”.
This is all I could find so far.

Yeah, I saw that picture. Pathetic that the local media takes a picture to make it look like only a few protesters were there. At least they got the empty suit.
Great pics! I’m so impressed by the crowd and feeling encouraged by the spirit of my fellow patriots. I sure wish he’d come to my town……………….
Great to see so many protestors! I wish I lived closer and would have come! I love the fact “normal” people come to these events, not radical wacko’s. Pictures of seniors and children, encourage more decent people to come. This movement is only going to grow and grow!
Well done elephant! As for the race baiting comments that should encourage you – it is the favorite tactic of those who are losing to grasp at anything to divert attention. Ignore the facts, skim the article and pick out one word, rip it our of context and work up a really good hissy fit of “offense”, and hope no one notices you don’t really have any answer to their questions.
As for the elephants – we have not left them, they have left us. Don’t give up your elephant, make the republicans earn their elephants back!
Semper Fortis, Paratus et Fidelis!
Connie – I think it depends on your point of view – to many liberals we ARE radical wackos!

Let’s dump[ V.A. hospitals–govt care…let’s dump bank insurance: govt given. Let’s dump Meciare: govt stuff…
you find one or two angry pro Obama people and you make a thing of this? Listen to the dope that are in the GOP and in Congress! now there is smart Nay Sayers on all things. And they lie olut of their teeth….at least read up on what is proposed before you get hysterical.
Fred Lapides,
We didn’t lose, the country lost… and ignorant comments like yours prove it.
I have read tons about these plans including more of the proposed bills than most members of Congress and our President. Have you? Yes you will find people lying out of their teeth about the plans in Washington… the President of the United States being the biggest one of them all.

Feel free to use this photo, taken at the Raleigh protest you are covering above. This is along Peace street, in front of the apartment complex into which the motorcade drove on the way to the back of the high school.

I was there protesting I am proud of it! NOBAMACARE!!!
Obama said he wants to reduce the number of abortions, but I don’t think covering abortion in insurance plans will reduce abortions!
I would ask president Obama to not include any tax payer money to pay for abortions. Abortion is the killing of an innocent child and that child should be protected from the moment of conception.
