Hundreds of grassroots patriots showed up today outside of Senator Kay Hagan’s office to voice opposition to a government takeover of our health care system. NBC 17 said it was about 400 protesters, that number is fair if maybe a little conservative. Regardless of the numbers, the message was clear: We don’t want government health care. Stop the spending! Stop the spread of socialism! Return the government to its rightful owners — We The People.
Kay Hagan isn’t holding an open town hall meeting. She did schedule some time to meet with constituents today, but then she decided to take the day off (although constituents could still meet with her staff — thanks). Kay Hagan may think this isn’t important. She may think we are not important. She may not want to hear the people’s voice. But the people are not going to be silent, and we are not going away. On a hot Friday afternoon, hundreds showed up to take a stand and try to make a difference for our nation and our children’s future. Its too bad our Senator couldn’t be bothered to do the same.

Wow…just wow. First, a public option is not gov. health care. It is a “not for profit” insurance that can not deny you care if you end up costing them profits. Where private “for profit ins” will dump you in a second if your care will hurt their bottom line. Which is what they do now. Single payer IS gov health care but, the public option ISN”T and single payer is not even on the table, pay attention. When you don’t have to pay for ins. CEO’s multi million $ bonuses and corporate profits, you get to pay 35% less per month for your ins. I’ll take that any day. For those of you who are afraid our country has gone socialist, well your just acting hysterical now. Calm down, stop being so scared of everything. Grow a pair. Our gov. runs a few things and will continue to. Because it just makes sense that some things should focus on service and not profit. You know like, Social Security, U.S. Military, U.S Postal, National Parks, V.A. Healthcare, Medicare to name just a few.We don’t need “for profit ins” standing between us and our Doctors. These scum sucking leaches have been screwing us for years and I’ll eat cake and ice cream when we get the public option to force them into some real competition.

You havn’t been paying attention again. “We the people” put Pres. Obama in office with an over 5 million vote majority to do just what he is working on doing. It’s called democracy in action…you know….America. If you don’t like it, leave it.
Clearly you are the one who doesn’t know the facts, so-called “true patriot”. The public option is government health care and it will put private companies out of business. Pay a little more attention to economics and think through the results of what they are trying to do instead of mindlessly spreading the administration’s talking points. Obama has already said he wants single-payer. So have many of his colleagues. The public-option, or ANY government health care plan is nothing but a back door to ensure the ultimate takeover of our health care system by the federal government.
I love your examples, Social Security, Medicare, the Postal Service, the VA?? Yeah those are all running great now, aren’t they? Let’s not forget the TRILIONS in unfunded Medicare mandates we already have… let’s burn more borrowed money with no way to pay it back.
And by the way, we elected a President, not a Dictator. We all have a voice in this process and have a right to question ANY ELECTED OFFICIAL. THEY WORK FOR US. The government has been out of the hands of the people for a long time, long before Commissar Obama was elected. And us ACTUAL “true patriots” who understand the founding of our nation are standing up to take it back.
