UPDATE: Photos from the August 14th ObamaCare Protest in Raleigh, NC are now available.
Friday, August 14 at 3:45pm we will be outside of Senator Kay Hagan’s (D – NC) Raleigh office protesting President Barack Obama’s plans for socialized medicine. Please, take off work early and join us if you can. American Elephant will be on hand to protest, and we’ll take photos to capture the event since we know the media won’t cover it accurately (if at all).
Senator Hagan’s office personally told me that she would not decide to vote for any legislation until reading the bill… yet she has also said she supports the administration’s plans for government health care and specifically a “public option”. Senator Hagan also receives quite a bit of support from MoveOn.org. Just as before, our numbers need to be overwhelming to make a difference. Senator Hagan is not holding an open town hall meeting, so this is our chance to make her aware that North Carolinians do not want government health care.

I am eager to be there. I am glad Hagan might do the right thing and support Health care reform. I was at Price’s meeting he is great. I am glad he represents us!
If Hagan was going to “do the right thing” she would listen to her constituents and not MoveOn.org. David Price is a hack and Hagan is serving her first AND ONLY term. The American People are no longer going to tolerate the massive expansion of our government into our daily lives. You want health care… GO OUT AND BUY IT. Stop stealing for your fellow citizens and start relying on yourself.
I have health insurance.
Happy People for Healthcare ReforM!
Alex, you don’t need to astroturf the site. We got it. I’m curious though, are you just a sheep following your perceived herd, or do you actually know what you are supporting?
“Health Care Reform” has a nice ring to it, and I’m sure we can all agree on “health care reform”. The problem is what does the “reform” entail. I’ll support tort reform, giving the same tax breaks to citizens as employers get and opening up the insurance markets across state lines. Those all sound like good “reforms” to me. But that is not what the leftists in Congress are proposing.
I am opposed to a government takeover of the health care industry. I am opposed to a public option. I am opposed to single-payer and believe the numerous leftists who say this is the backdoor to ensure a single-payer system. I am opposed to a massive expansion of government control over our lives. I am opposed to a massive expansion of federal debt. I am opposed the loss of financial and individual privacy that will inevitably occur. I am opposed to encouraging more citizens to rely on the federal government instead of relying on themselves. I am opposed to granted government bean-counters decision-making ability over our care decisions.
So I understand you are “happy” for “health reform”. But what does that actually mean? What do you support? What are you against?
