From Virginia and the Capital
The wife and I have spent the past few days in the DC. We’re thankful to have been able to spend some time with family and friends and witness the baptism of young Emerson. With the economy in shambles and the political landscape in disarray… it is easy to be discouraged about the coming years. But then you get to see dear friends start to raise their first child in the church surrounded by family and you realize all is not yet lost.
One of the things I noticed during our short trip here was the lack of campaign bumper stickers and signs in the district. I didn’t see a single Obama or McCain bumper sticker in the Metro Park & Ride lots either of the two times we were there, nor did I see much on the roads around DC. Virginia however, was another story, and one of sharp contrasts.
Downtown Alexandria is lined with upscale row homes, and house after house had Obama signs. Yet drive just a few short blocks where people start to have yards and driveways, and the signs almost completely turned to McCain. The contrast was striking and immediately noticeable. There may be no red or blue states left… just urban or suburban/rural. You might be able to determine how a populous will vote simply by determining how concentrated the population is. I know this isn’t a new phenomenon persay, but seeing it first hand was absolutely striking.

THE WIFE is that sorta like THAT ONE
Kiley, I respect “The Wife” a great deal, which is more than I can say for “That One.” The wife has a few qualities Barack Obama could never dream of having, such as integrity, honesty, compassion and class.
My wife is a strong, educated, independent, God-fearing, beautiful woman whom I am honored and blessed to spend my life with. I’m not sure what you are trying to imply, but I do know that “The Wife” laughed when I read your comment to her.
