The Voice of the People -Great Video

This is the voice of the people.  This is why we are angry.  This is why we are upset.  It’s not about one political party or another.  It’s about government not listening.  It’s about government thinking they know best, when few have ever faced the challenges most Americans actually face.  It’s about small businesses, the backbone of our nation, finally standing up.

This woman speaks for millions.  God Bless her for standing up.

Well, all that’s heartwarming and all but there’s certainly some contradictions.
For starters, tort reform is a minute expense of health care cost. It seriously isn’t a factor. But for the sake of argument, I’ll concede that point.

I don’t think Feds mandate state to to state insurance regulations so whatever issues there are with state mandates have no bearing on HR3200. Accordingly, those issues should be addressed to said state legislators.

I’m in agreement that for years, health care reform has been ignored. It sounds like she’s finally getting realistically close to what she’s been asking for. She fell short of an explanation of HR3200.

andy42302, Tort reform is part of the solution. Hospitals pay millions in malpractice insurance and individual practices pay amounts that have put most out of business. Ob/Gyn specialists are declining because nobody wants to get into the field due to high malpractice insurance. Because of fear of a lawsuit, hospitals and doctors perform unnecessary test in order to prevent the possibility of being sued for not doing the test. It is a bigger issue than you think. California actually did a small amount of tort reform which included checks on the malpractice insurance premiums, the result was that premiums were reduced and costs were reduced to the patients.

Yes, it is true that it is the state’s responsibility when it comes to mandates for insurance, which prevents people from buying insurance from other states. However, there’s this little thing in the Constitution, specifically in Article 1, section 8 that the federal government uses wrongly most of the time.
“To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;”

The fact that neither of these two issues are in HR3200 shows that the bill is not about health insurance reform. There are even more actions that could be taken that wouldn’t cost the tax payer any more that can be looked into; check out the letter from the co-founder of Whole Foods for a few more ideas.
