If you haven’t seen it. Watch it. Sit down with your spouse. Sit down with your friends. Sit down with your kids. Everyone needs to watch “Taking Chance“.
We don’t have HBO, so I missed “Taking Chance” when it first aired. A friend let my wife borrow tonight and I’m thankful that she did. Its easy to forget the grave sacrifice our Marines make every day. Its easy to turn a blind eye to their dedication and service. Its easy to forget about the men who come back and those who go home. But please don’t forget. Don’t ever forget.
Taking Chance shares the story of Chance Phelps’ final return home. A hero in life whose death has touched countless more. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps and dedicated young patriots like Chance Phelps. And thank God for the promise of Freedom that makes them all possible. I hope no other lives are lost protecting our freedoms, but if there are, I am grateful that other Service Men and everyday Americans honor their trip home. Every life lost fighting for our nation is a hero similar to Chance Phelps. Each of them deserves our respect, our gratitude, and a proper trip home.
