In honor of Senator Jesse Helms and his three decades of service to North Carolina and our country, Governor Mike Easley ordered all state flags to be flown at half-staff from Monday July 7th until sunset on Tuesday the 8th.  L.F. Eason, a manager for the Department of Agriculture, refused to lower the flag at his building, and instead sent a whiny, multi-page e-mail to his department, staff, superiors, and the Governor’s office… and then retired.

Of course the left and the liberal media are making this guy out to be a hero… but in reality he’s nothing but a jerk.

Instead of letting the state honor a man who did so much for North Carolina, Eason tried to make the story about himself and his beliefs.  He whined, complained, called a dead man names, and then quit his job.

Good riddance.  If you have nothing better to do than try to gain your 15 minutes of fame by criticizing a dead man, then we didn’t need you punching the clock for the state any longer.  Spit on the man’s grave all you want to, but Jesse Helms will long be remembered for contributing much to our state and our country.  And you Mr. Eason… I doubt you’ll be remembered at all.
