Bakari Kitwana didn’t actually go to Harvard, but he is “senior media fellow” at “the Harvard-law based think tank The Jamestown Project.” I guess throwing the phrase “Harvard-law based” adds some credibility. Certainly it sounds much better than saying you work for a “diverse action-oriented think tank” that is operated “primarily by people of color”. If virtually everyone who works there are “people of color” can you really call yourselves diverse? I always thought diversity actually meant “diversity” and not just non-white.
So what did Bakari Kitwana learn at Harvard the University of Rochester? Apparently not much that he couldn’t learn by watching race pimps Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton on cables news: how to fan the flames of racial tension to prop up yourself and your own causes. That is exactly what Bakari Kitwana did in his racial hit piece for the Huffington Post yesterday; “Is Conservative Obama Backlash Racism?”
To Kitwana, everything is racism. Mention Barack Obama’s socialist rhetoric: RACIST! Advise your kids to stay home from school yesterday: RACIST! Oppose Sonia Sotomayor: RACIST! Oppose Government Health Care: RACIST! Oppose President Obama, Attorney General Holder and Speaker of the House Pelosi’s treatment of the CIA and their “investigations” into interrogation techniques: RACIST! Oppose massive government spending that we can never repay: RACIST!
Surely Kitwana is smart enough to read and understand our actual reasons for such opposition. He has a Bachelor’s and two Master’s from the University of Rochester. Rochester is an excellent university, attending and earning three degrees (two at a Master’s level) is no small accomplishment for any American. Somewhere along the lines while earning those degrees I’m certain Kitwana learned to read and comprehend. But did he read and try to comprehend any of the President’s opposition before writing yesterday’s racial hit piece? He doesn’t actually analyze or try to understand whether “Conservative Obama Backlash is Racism”, the purpose of his article is misdirection in an effort to increase the racial divide. He is trying to label all dissent of this President as racism to keep the black community in line and make others think twice before making their own critiques. He is using race and people’s racial fears to promote his own agenda. Doesn’t that make Kitwana the racist?
I guess we’ll have to read his forthcoming book Hip-Hop Activism in the Obama Era to know for sure.
I warned about this early in the campaign. And we’ve mentioned it time and time again. Obama apologists and the left throw the race card around whenever any criticism of President Barack Obama starts to stick. As his poll numbers drop down, they will continue to fan the racial flames at a greater pace. They don’t want to talk about issues. They don’t want to talk about real dissent. To them its about protecting the leftist-Marxist agenda. Some may not even agree with his agenda, but there is a Black Man in the White House and by God they want to see him succeed.
I want our country to succeed. And not just for the next four or eight years, but for generations to come. If people like Bakari Kitwana agreed, they would stop stoking the racial tensions and start analyzing the real purpose behind Conservative dissent. I don’t know if he’s scared that “people of color” might actually agree with us on alot of these issues or if he is just trying to sell books. One thing is clear, I believe ALL PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF COLOR can make up their own minds about this President and his administration. I don’t judge President Obama on the color of his skin but by his actions and the content (or lack thereof) of his character. Bakari Kitwana would be well served to do the same.
