I am not going to compare President Obama to Hitler. We’ll leave that to others and you can form your own opinions about them and their analogies. I do not believe President Obama’s plans for our nation include genocide or gas chambers. And the socialist I see in him is far from the National Socialists we see represented by Nazis. However, we can learn a lot from the spread of propaganda in Europe that led to Hitler’s power. A key ingredient in that spread of propaganda was through the youth. And its not just Nazi Germany. Totalitarian regimes around the world have sought to spread their propaganda and entrench their power by brainwashing the children. I guess its easier to indoctrinate a six year-old instead of fighting a 26 year-old or being challenged by a 46 year-old in the voting booth.
Nazi Germany, Cuba, North Korea, China, The Soviet Union… all totalitarian regimes who use or used propaganda to children as a means of greater control and to quiet civil unrest.
That is why this video bothered me during the campaign. That is why this video did too. The motives might be innocent enough, but the image is frighteningly familiar to things we have seen before. Couple those realizations with what we see today, and rightfully many patriots are afraid for their nation and our country’s youth. Will tomorrow’s America look anything like today’s?
Before the election, a teacher in Asheville browbeat one of her students for supporting McCain. At the inauguration, Al Gore told a group of school children that they knew more than their parents and their parents were wrong. The U.N. wants to teach 5 year-olds about masturbation and 9 year-olds about abortion. School systems in America are reading books about gay penguins and teaching children about homosexuality and transgender issues without parental consent. Textbooks are being re-written to provide a more liberal world-view. Parents are being denied the right to teach their children at home because of their religion.
Now the former Community Organizer and current President of the United States is making an unprecedented speech to the school children of our nation. I’d like to believe his motives were pure and politics didn’t play into this. But viewing this administration’s track record doesn’t afford such benefit of the doubt. When the President browbeats property owners who want to protect their legal rights… when the President admits he doesn’t know the facts but impugns the integrity of a police force… when the President calls me a liar for reporting what is actually in the health care bills and encourages my neighbors to report me to some enemies list… when the President apologizes to nations around the world and bows to a Saudi king… he loses the benefit of the doubt. As a socialist who has surrounded himself with Marxist and racist radicals all of his life, he loses the benefit of the doubt.
Without benefit of the doubt, the President doesn’t get to speak to my children unchallenged. Surely we can’t trust the school system to challenge him. Surely we can’t trust the school system to protect the interest and rights of parents. So on September 8, 2009, when President Obama seeks an unprecedented audience with the nation’s youth, I would have no choice but to deny him access to my child.
Parents, you are responsible for your children. You are responsible for teaching them right and wrong, instilling personal responsibility and an understanding of the founding of our nation. It is your job to raise your children, not the federal government. And when a socialist with a radical agenda seeks an audience with them, it is your job, not the school’s, to protect them. It is your values that should be taught to your children, not the political agenda of any President or any political party. If you can’t be there to watch the President’s address with your children and challenge them on the content immediately afterward, then it is also your job to consider keeping them out of school that day.
I shutter shudder to think how many schools would have prevented a similar address by President Bush. Shouldn’t the same rationale apply? If not then clearly there is an agenda at play. Children are not a pawn in your political games, and certainly not a tool to enhance your political dominance.
Take control of your children and the values you hold dear. Consider celebrating National Keep Your Child at Home Day on September 8, 2009.

[UPDATE] I tried, I really did, but comment moderation is back on for this post. Lefty blogs have been sending a ton of traffic here trying to astroturf and silence those with opposing views (and improving their traffic and SEO in the process). But the last few comments of outright distortion, lies and calling people racists have gone too far. If you comment more than twice you will likely be blocked as spam. If you comment under multiple names, you will be blocked as spam. If you call people who disagree with the President racists, you will likely be blocked as spam. If you don’t further the debate, you will likely be blocked as spam. Disagreements are fine. Debate is fine. It can even be heated. But a lot of these comments on both sides have gone too far, and its time to step back in. No one’s previous comments will be deleted or removed, but future comments are subject to review.

Gee Sarah, we’ve read about socialism. We’ve defined socialism. Written multiple posts about socialism. Maybe YOU should learn a little about what it means before you start preaching to everyone else.
Marxist thug? Wow…the more I read the more Canada sounds like a great option. Your life has not changed ONE BIT since Obama took office. Here’s an idea…instead of teaching your kids that they can run away whenever there’s something they don’t like…how about teaching them to PROBLEM SOLVE? Write a note, parents, have them sit outside the classroom for the whole 20 minutes of the speech, and let them get on with their school day. You are willing to let your children’s education suffer just to prove your point to no one. GREAT JOB, PARENTS!!
READ MORE, AMERICAN ELEPHANT. YOU OBVIOUSLY DON’T UNDERSTAND.
Sarah, I obviously do understand. Try doing a bit of research yourself instead of regurgitating liberal talking points. There are scores of posts on this site where we have looked into this socialism issue in great detail. Try the “Search” box at the top of the page and read for yourself. While you are at it, start thinking for yourself too.
AND, STOP FLOODING THE COMMENT BOX. If you can’t get your point across in one or two comments, then maybe its not as well thought out as you think.
It makes me sad to see a posting like this. I work for a school district, and I can tell you that what you are suggesting will only hurt schools around the country. Thanks to NCLB, funding is dependent on students’ attendance. To ask parents to keep their kids at home will cost millions to school districts all over the country. Do you really believe The President is out to brain wash kids? Maybe he just wants to get a positive message out to school children all over the country to work hard and stay in school…God forbid. Don’t talk to me about propaganda, when republicans have been spouting lies about death panels and trying to undermine people’s civil liberties in the name “National Security”. How about a debate that doesn’t involve one side screaming with their fingers in their ears to drown out the other side. Are WE the school children?
PARANOID MUCH FOLKS? worried that your kids may grow up with a DIFFERENT opinion than yours. How about letting your kids grow up in reality instead of sheltering them………get over the color of his skin folks and let’s move one.
Come on, Sarah. Don’t you remember AmericanElephant lambasting the sociofascicommielibrul Bush administration for enacting TARP and bailing out the banks? Just use the search function!
I will say this………….it is nice to finally see MORE parents take an active interest in what kids are learning at school…………..I think that if we actually focused on the content at school we would all be better off.
Ha! Funny and true, Mike g. Just because you want something to be true, American Elephant, doesn’t make it so. The sophomoric writings on this website are no match for any political scientist. You know…Obama is also going to be using subliminal messages over the airways that can only be counteracted by covering your head with aluminum foil. I think your next article should be on hat construction. Your chances at accuracy will be far greater. ; ) I won’t take up any more of your precious space. Happy Truancy Day, everybody!!
Because I don’t think the original will get approved:
This is how much America Elephant understands about socialism:
From the preceding post: “Under President Obama we have seem a massive expansion in the Federal government into the banking industry. The Federal Government bought AIG, has a massive stake in CitiGroup, and has taken over, seized or closed 84 other banks so far in 2009.”
From the September 16th 2008 issue of the Wall Street Journal:
“The U.S. government seized control of American International Group Inc. — one of the world’s biggest insurers — in an $85 billion deal that signaled the intensity of its concerns about the danger a collapse could pose to the financial system.”
George W. Bush was president when AIG was bailed out.
From the November 24th, 2008 issue of the Wall Street Journal:
“The federal government agreed Sunday night to rescue Citigroup Inc. by helping to absorb potentially hundreds of billions of dollars in losses on toxic assets on its balance sheet and injecting fresh capital into the troubled financial giant.
The agreement marks a new phase in government efforts to stabilize U.S. banks and securities firms. After injecting nearly $300 billion of capital into financial institutions, federal officials now appear to be willing to help shoulder bad assets, on a targeted basis, from specific institutions.”
From the December 19th issue of the New York Times:
“WASHINGTON — The emergency bailout of General Motors and Chrysler announced by President Bush on Friday gives the companies a few months to get their businesses in order, but hands off to President-elect Barack Obama the difficult political task of ruling on their future.
The plan pumps $13.4 billion by mid-January into the companies from the fund that Congress authorized to rescue the financial industry. But the two companies have until March 31 to produce a plan for long-term profitability, including concessions from unions, creditors, suppliers and dealers.”
YOU, sir, are the one that needs to do the research.
One thing is clear; AmericanElephant has absolutely no compunction about smearing Barack Obama a socialist for continuing an economic agenda that George W. Bush enacted and that you’re only interested in socialism as a pejorative term. Furthermore, you’re more than willing to overlook historical fact (either out of ignorance or intention) to make cheap rhetorical points.
Hey Mike,
That’s a nice try at being cute, too bad reality doesn’t pan out very well for you. Want to see me criticizing President Bush and his interference in the markets long before TARP?
http://americanelephant.com/blog/well-at-least-the-socialists-should-be-happy/
http://americanelephant.com/blog/feds-consider-fanniefreddie-takeover/
http://americanelephant.com/blog/stay-out/
I criticized BOTH sides on TARP too. But hey, don’t let the facts get in the way. Just go on assuming you know what you are talking about.
Oh and Mike, YES President George W. Bush was president under the ORIGINAL Bailout of AIG, but he was not under subsequent bailouts. We poured BILLIONS more into AIG after Obama took office and BILLIONS more into CitiGroup as well.
I understand the facts. I have researched the facts. You sir don’t know the facts. Try looking at the issue in its entirety instead of selecting half truths.
And Sarah, if you think the writing is so “sophomoric” you are free to leave. No one asked for your kool-aid drinking two cents in the first place.
>Oh and Mike, YES President George W. Bush was president under the ORIGINAL Bailout of AIG, but he was not under subsequent bailouts. We poured BILLIONS more into AIG after Obama took office and BILLIONS more into CitiGroup as well.
So we’re in agreement that George W. Bush was a socialist! I’m glad we could clear that one up. You must also agree with me too that Ronald Reagan was a socialist since he bailed out Continental Illinois, no?
But seriously, what were these “subsequent bailouts” besides the original TARP program? Obama merely continued the Bush agenda in that regard. I think in your ideological fury you’re confusing TARP with the stimulus package. They were quite distinct, you know.
Oh, and posting a couple of links where you lament the direction your sovereign George W. took when dealing with the housing crisis is a little different rhetorically than breathlessly predicting Obama’s insidious socialist takeover of the United States.
Why is it you leftists have to keep bringing up Bush? Can’t defend Dear Leader Obama so you have to keep looking at the past? Bush was wrong. SO IS OBAMA.
STILL, there is a HUGE difference between what Bush did and a systematic government takeover of multiple aspects of our nation’s economy that are happening under Barack Obama. But again, you don’t care about a rational discussion or facts, you just want to keep spewing your party-line talking points.
Go astroturf somewhere else.
As a socialist, I would be happy if this were becoming a socialist county. Sadly, it isn’t.
I think some are forgetting why the bailouts were needed in the first place. Deregulated markets that allowed toxic assets to be traded and passed on, companies like GM that went from financing autos to sub-prime loans and all of this done under the watch of GW Bush. Obama was handed a steaming pile of crap and what would be the option to these bailouts?
As to the original point of this thread, the hysteria is what captured my interest. The panic over the fact that the president of the United States is going to address school children is absurd. Rather than talk with your kids about what they might hear and afterwards what they did hear the cry goes out to keep them home. Oh, and GW Bush did more to screw over kidss with NCLB than Obama will do in making a speech.
All of this ramped up “socialist take over” rhetoric ignores the fact that whether the government bails out corporations or not, corporations still dictate our policies. WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA big pharma, tobacco, defense contractors and so forth. While conservatives are whining about socialism our jobs are still being sent overseas and to Central and South America and real wages have not risen in over two decades.
But again, it is humorous to watch the hysterics. And again, the Republicans have no one to fault but themselves for allowing the last administration to destroy conservatism in America.
Don, at least you got one thing right. Republicans did allow the last administration to destroy conservatism for America. And now we are working to take it back.
The rest of what you said is pure nonsense of course. It wasn’t deregulation that caused the mortgage crisis, it was regulation and the federal government pushing lenders to take on riskier and riskier loans. That is what created the “toxic assets” in the first place. And the government’s answer was even more regulation, not less.

Joey,
First, you are completely naive if you think that the RINO’s you are speaking of are Republicans; there is a big difference between the two. However, you are correct that the RINO’s lie just as much as Liberals (like those who deny the existence of death panels).
The schools need to take a hit in the pocket, it is the only thing they listen to. If they are going to make a choice to bring politics into the classroom, where it does not belong, and take orders from the president instead of the parents they work for then they should pay a penalty for it. Next time, maybe they will make the right choice and keep the two separate. If and when parents want their children involved in politics they will involved them at home, where those things belong.
Real Teacher,
I wonder just how real your teaching certificate is and if you are mistaking it for a psychology degree if you believe you must counsel your students. Sounds like someone should be questioning your practices and your accreditation considering your conduct.
Since you are referring to 7 and 8 year-olds as disrespectful (they must have learned that from the obvious disrespect you show them) and hoodlums you obviously don’t belong around them. They are children and need to be nurtured and taught not labeled.
If the president fails, we win, because his socialist policies will have failed. The only ones who look to the government to provide for them and blame them when they fail are Liberals; the same Liberals who believe that public schools are a tool of the government. Public schools were originally created by local communities then taken over by government purse strings.
Sarah,
You are the problem with the school system. Let me guess…you teach in California or maybe New York….NO I bet Massachusetts. EXCUSE ME, the parents are the worst part of your J.O.B.????????? WHY, because we have a problem with your liberal agenda and the indoctrination of OUR children? You Madam, should thank your lucky stars you are not my daughters teacher. Then again, I wouldn’t live in your “it takes a village” state.
Living in WYOMING and proud…..I dare you to bring your liberal agenda to WYOMING
[...] From Americanelephants [...]
I won’t keep my kids home from school because I do realize that that does financially hurt the schools, and ultimately the children. BUT, I disagree with taking classroom time for a forced viewing of this speech. It is a simple matter of making it optional and opening it up for parents to view it with their children. Why does it have to be during the school day? Aren’t these types of things usually aired in the early evening so that families can watch it together and have a discussion as a family? I do not believe this is appropriate during the school day when parents most likely are unable to view it with their children.
I know some very good teachers who are using this address to provide a hands-on learning activity for their students. There is more to a good education than just reading writing and arithemetic. Students in this country have studied the system that is the American government since its inception. To any good school or teacher, this is not about politics. Research into how the brain learns and aquires information tells us that these hands-on learning opportunities are vital to creating a positive learning environment. On September 11, 2001, President Bush was at a school reading to children. President Reagan addressed school children after the Challenger explosion. We bring political figures into the classroom all the time.
The reality is this: Parents have much more sway over their children’s view on the world than even the best teachers. We as educators don’t always like to admit this, but it is true. And SR…you don’t just get to pick who is a republican when they are saying what you want to hear. Either openly denounce them or live with it. Death panels? Really? The only death panels I know of sit in cozy offices recording record profits during a recession. while they cut the people from their insurance rolls who are actually sick and need medical care. Talk to them.
I think the whole nature of American culture is changing,
Joey, your comment proves exactly why we don’t need teachers talking to our students about politics. “the only death panels I know sit in cozy offices recording record profits during a recession”. Really? Whatever buddy. Keep your hysterical, anti-capitalist nonsense to yourself and away from America’s children.
How many of you folks upset about his are also upset over the high level of access to your kids that military recruiters have while they are at school?
I disagree with allowing this speech to be broadcasted in my childs school. I do not support Obama, however, I do not pass this to my children, I respect he is the President. I do not accept his intentions for his speech. If they were really for “the children” then why not do it in primetime so parents can be with their children to hear this together. So we, as parents, can talk to them right at the moment! Stop watching if we feel the need. Why are we allowing this to happen IN school. Education is EXTREAMLY important! I agree WE all need to teach the children the need for education. It is NOT the governments job!
AE…
You certainly like a challenge. Republican approval rating and percentage of people that relate to the GOP is at a 25 year low. Continue with the racist rhetoric, birther nonsense, obstructionism for obstructionism sake, religious rhetoric, “family values” rhetoric with so many hypocritcal gay/adulterer Congressmen (that rail against gays and for the “sanctity of marriage” like Vitter, Sanford, Craig, Foley and on and on), anti-abortionist extremism, tax cuts for the wealthy mantra and so forth and the chances of getting conservatism back will be slim and none.
But, good luck with all of that because your party’s proxy voices like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Coulter etc. are driving moderates and true conservatives away in droves. Especially when “main stream” elected Republicans do not only not distance themselves from these extremists but concur and kowtow to them.
Like I said, it appears you like a challenge.
Don, your stats are questionable AT BEST and you are attributing a lot of things to me that you shouldn’t. But whatever Buddy. You go right ahead with your pipe dreams. The rest of us are living in the real world. I love how all you leftists thing you know how conservatives should act.
And before you start talking about the past hypocrites in my party, take a look at your own. There are more crooks with a D after there name on Capitol Hill than most of the prisons in my area can even hold. At least we’re trying to throw our hypocrites and crooks out… you guys make them Committee Chairs or elevate them to Godlike status.
OBAMA DOES NOT HAVE TO SAY A WORD – HIS FIRST GOAL IS TO ENDEAR HIMSELF TO AMERICAN CHILDREN
AS A 25 YEAR RETIRED TEACHER, I CAN SEE A SOCIALIST IN WOLVES CLOTHING WHEN I SEE ONE…
WAKE UP! (AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK WHAT HE REALLY IS ABOUT!)
AE
I wasnt accusing you of what the GOP’s SOP is. I am saying your challenge of regaining the conservative movement is facing the obstacle of your party’s continued path to the extreme right which has been rejected by the American voters. Ronald Reagan Republicans have been replaced by a most perverted form of conservatism.
As to crooks…where do we begin? Nixon? Reagan and Iran/Contra and Iraqgate and all of the indicted members of his admiistration that only walked because Bush Sr. pardoned them? Alberto Gonzales, Randall Cunningham, Libby, Bob Ney, Jack Abramoff’s clan of chronic offenders? It isn’t that the Dems don’t have offenders, they are just not out front pushing this phony “family values” holier than thou crap while being closeted gays, adulterers and crooks. And trying to throw out your crooks? Craig, Sanford, Vitter, Foley, Dolittle? DeLay? Please. The GOP didn’t throw out the Hammer. He had to resign.
Also, I am not a Democrat. I happen to have to choose between a lesser of two evils as there is no viable third party. The GOP has not been a realistic option since Reagan. If GW Bush was a conservative then I am a Chinese aviator and I can’t even fly a kite. The Dems, though a spineless and unfocused bunch are unfortunately a better option than the hate mongering, religiously hypocritical, anti everything Republicansism of today.
Like I said, good luck getting America back on board with what the Republican Party is today. That is going to be one tough sell.
Don,
I’ve never said George W. Bush was conservative. Quite the contrary I’ve said he wasn’t on a number of occasions. The Democrats are the lesser of two evils? Please. Charlie Rangel? Chris Dodd? Barney Frank? Nancy Pelosi? Jack Murtha? And those are just some of the people still in office. You’ve also got Sptizer, John Edwards, Tom Daschle, William “Cold Cash” Jefferson, Blago, Bill Richardson, Tony Rezko, etc… and that was just the past year or two. I’m not sure either party has a monopoly on corruption… but Democrats sure have a full (and very corrupt) house.
Yes, it will hurt the budgets of the schools and that is part of the point. Mr. Obama has nothing pertinent to say to my son. I do not believe he has any personal ethics, lacks financial expertise, and is leading our country down the wrong path. He has no business addressing the students..my son will be home. The school systems needs to say no to Obama….leave education to us.
In response to Real Teacher:
I am a product of an abusive home. I was abused sexually and physically on a daily basis and yet I was an A/B student and currently in college for Elementary Education. I will be the first to tell you it was hard to go home from school because my parents were always at work and my brother would let his friends gang bang me. At the age of 6 you don’t know exactly why it is happening, but when you are 12 and learn about it in school you begin to understand. Parents should be teaching their children to be respectful and obedient. I think as far as you taking care of what the parents screwed up before teaching is good, but should you have not turned in a report to keep this from happening on a daily basis–you know get the child somewhere safe? I do not know where you teach, but do no many schools have just detention now and they need to bring back paddling. If parents weren’t so afraid to spank their child maybe your foul mouthed students would behave better. I will be the first to tell you corporal punishment is different than abuse. My children will be home schooled or in private school when they are of age. However for the record most children are inattentive at the age of 7 or 8. You have to get their interested to keep them focused, but from the way you described the children you teach I doubt you have much structure or learning going on it you classroom. Oh well public education is a joke any more–
Well, well, well…Just picked up the first grader and got a letter in his backpack:
“Dear XXXXXXXXXX Parents,
Many of you have heard about a speech by President Obama to be delivered to school children on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 12:00 pm. We will continue with our regular schedule and will not be watching the speech here at XXXXXXXXXXXX Elementary, but we are providing information below if you would like to view the speech with your child(ren) afterwards. We will also tape the speech if you would like to check out the tape from our media center. (Viewing options then follow.)”
So the Principal has listened to the huge number of complaints (I say huge because the e-mails and calls have been pummeling school for days) and has made a ruling. If I had a child in High School I would have been more tolerant of this whole thing but my 1st grader will only be indoctrinated by me!
So it looks like my son will be having a 3-day weekend instead of a 4!
Good news Kim. Thanks for sharing this. That’s all we wanted, let the parents be involved and make the decisions for their children themselves.

My school district is not showing the speech. The technology department is recording it and teachers may choose to check it out and show it. I do not teach politics in my classroom, that is up to the parents. I am there to make sure they can read, write, do math and solve problems. I am teaching them how to think, not what to think. Obama has no business broadcasting to school children in the middle of the day without parents around.

Americans need to wake up and understand that America as we knew when we were growing up is changing and very quickly. I do not agree with what Obama is doing and my children will not be going to school on Tuesday Sept 8, 2009 because NO ONE has the right to teach political point of views to them except me. Once they get older they can form their own opinion with information that I give them that I know to be true and accurate. Both parties have their faults and flaws along with crooks and hypocrites but it is my job to explain to my child NOT the president.
It is funny that people who SUPPORT this speech being done at school where the child’s PARENTS are not allowed don’t realize that he is only addressing elementary aged children. Why isn’t he addressing high school children who are about to be out in the real world making choices and voting. I will say this my child WILL NEVER go against what I say considering that they feel it is correct however I will not have it FORCED on my child. My children are individuals with individual minds and they have been taught to think for themselves but not in a classroom where they could potentially be coersed by teachers and other students. Please America I emplore you to use logic. Logic and common sense is what is going to band the American People together.
If you went to a public school don’t let that stop you from using your mind and thinking logically. I know you can put 2 and 2 together. The reason I make the crack about public school is because 1) the address is at public schools 2) public schools teach to pass government cirriculumn 3) this address is interfering with the so called education that children should be getting 4) there is nothing that a 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 year old will get from hearing this man speak for 20 minutes and yes he is nothing more than a mere imperfect human being like you and I.
Don’t get me wrong I am not afraid that he is going to say things to influence my children my problem is he is violating my right as a parent. The government should not have the control they do when it comes to our children. They tell parents how they can discipline their children, the kind of education they will receive they are not going to tell my children about politics. IF you caught the TELL part that was intentional because they are not going to TEACH it they will TELL it to them as a command.
Come on people let’s wake up and save what is left of this great nation we call AMERICA.
My children are going to have a 4 day weekend all because Barack Obama (he does not include himself as a president so why should I) thinks he should have more power than any ONE mere mortal, imperfect human being should ever have over any one person much less an entire nation.
Deana,
“I am a christian, a teacher and a conservative.”
I would never want my kids to be taught by someone who is a Christian first, THEN a teacher. I wouldn’t want them spreading their Christian propaganda to my kids and swaying their beliefs through indoctrination.
It all comes down to this. They are my children and I get to choose what they do, see or hear until I feel they are ready to make those decisions for themselves. I spend time at the school my children attend, I volunteer and particiapate. It doesn’t matter to me if the President is a Democrat or Republican. But it is wrong to give parents little to no time to review possible political information that will be piped into their school. Why not show it at a time when families can view it together. Tape it for the teachers to use in class at a later time, after parents have been able to evalute the message. The message will still have the same value wether it is live or taped. But you have to wonder why the secrecy and short notice. If you really want to do this give people time. Why rush? Wouldn’t the message be heard better once the children have adjusted to the new year? We want to trush our elected official, but we were give a system of checks and balances for a reason.
Name calling is unneccessary. We are all allowed to have our own point of view. Those are rights given to us by the founders of this great country. Calling each other names only belittles them and those that have fought and died for this country.
My children will either opt out or be kept home on Tuesday, but my final decision will not be made until I have had a chance to review the Presidents written speech on Monday.

I am in COMPLETE support of this. After reading this, it really gives me a desire to try and home school my children.
I think that before Obama did this, he should have had parent consent.
I agree also that if Bush had done this, people would have been out raged and saying far worse than what you are saying.
To say you are making your children run away from a problem is complete lack of understanding.
Is that what the Boston Tea Party was???
It’s called taking action and SHOWING that it is not supported. A child missing one day of school is not going to destroy the rest of their education also.
