I am not going to compare President Obama to Hitler. We’ll leave that to others and you can form your own opinions about them and their analogies. I do not believe President Obama’s plans for our nation include genocide or gas chambers. And the socialist I see in him is far from the National Socialists we see represented by Nazis. However, we can learn a lot from the spread of propaganda in Europe that led to Hitler’s power. A key ingredient in that spread of propaganda was through the youth. And its not just Nazi Germany. Totalitarian regimes around the world have sought to spread their propaganda and entrench their power by brainwashing the children. I guess its easier to indoctrinate a six year-old instead of fighting a 26 year-old or being challenged by a 46 year-old in the voting booth.
Nazi Germany, Cuba, North Korea, China, The Soviet Union… all totalitarian regimes who use or used propaganda to children as a means of greater control and to quiet civil unrest.
That is why this video bothered me during the campaign. That is why this video did too. The motives might be innocent enough, but the image is frighteningly familiar to things we have seen before. Couple those realizations with what we see today, and rightfully many patriots are afraid for their nation and our country’s youth. Will tomorrow’s America look anything like today’s?
Before the election, a teacher in Asheville browbeat one of her students for supporting McCain. At the inauguration, Al Gore told a group of school children that they knew more than their parents and their parents were wrong. The U.N. wants to teach 5 year-olds about masturbation and 9 year-olds about abortion. School systems in America are reading books about gay penguins and teaching children about homosexuality and transgender issues without parental consent. Textbooks are being re-written to provide a more liberal world-view. Parents are being denied the right to teach their children at home because of their religion.
Now the former Community Organizer and current President of the United States is making an unprecedented speech to the school children of our nation. I’d like to believe his motives were pure and politics didn’t play into this. But viewing this administration’s track record doesn’t afford such benefit of the doubt. When the President browbeats property owners who want to protect their legal rights… when the President admits he doesn’t know the facts but impugns the integrity of a police force… when the President calls me a liar for reporting what is actually in the health care bills and encourages my neighbors to report me to some enemies list… when the President apologizes to nations around the world and bows to a Saudi king… he loses the benefit of the doubt. As a socialist who has surrounded himself with Marxist and racist radicals all of his life, he loses the benefit of the doubt.
Without benefit of the doubt, the President doesn’t get to speak to my children unchallenged. Surely we can’t trust the school system to challenge him. Surely we can’t trust the school system to protect the interest and rights of parents. So on September 8, 2009, when President Obama seeks an unprecedented audience with the nation’s youth, I would have no choice but to deny him access to my child.
Parents, you are responsible for your children. You are responsible for teaching them right and wrong, instilling personal responsibility and an understanding of the founding of our nation. It is your job to raise your children, not the federal government. And when a socialist with a radical agenda seeks an audience with them, it is your job, not the school’s, to protect them. It is your values that should be taught to your children, not the political agenda of any President or any political party. If you can’t be there to watch the President’s address with your children and challenge them on the content immediately afterward, then it is also your job to consider keeping them out of school that day.
I shutter shudder to think how many schools would have prevented a similar address by President Bush. Shouldn’t the same rationale apply? If not then clearly there is an agenda at play. Children are not a pawn in your political games, and certainly not a tool to enhance your political dominance.
Take control of your children and the values you hold dear. Consider celebrating National Keep Your Child at Home Day on September 8, 2009.

I don’t even know what to say to this disgusting intrusion of privacy and of parental rights. Who do liberals think they are? If we allow Obama to address our children (whether the message is innocent or not), it opens a pipeline to our children for political leaders! Hitler’s addresses to children and families early on appeared innocent too!
If I had a clue what he was going to say (and ANYONE owes it to me as a parent to inform me ahead of time what they will say to my child), I could make a more informed decision. I’m sure his ‘FIRST’ address to school children will be quite subtle and strictly about education but, as I said, it’s his ‘FIRST’ address; The making of precident for future indoctrinations. . He is bringing Hitler and Mao’s tactics upon our children. I am keeping my child at home on that day.
Instead of keeping the kids at home parents should go to school WITH their children and make sure that the indoctrination doesn’t happen. That is exactly what I will be doing. I’ll sit in my child’s classroom during the address and any discussion and I will be prepared with facts and information to better inform the teacher and students as needed. Why run away when you can meet this head on. I’ll correct all of the misinformation given during the address and I’ll reach more than just my kid, I’ll reach the whole class.

Why are some of you so afraid to have the P.O.T.U.S. tell your kids the importanceof staying in school and getting a good education, could it be that you want them to stay uneducated so they can continue the tradition of being manipulated by the powerful in the country, like the ones who are getting people to go out and fight against their own best interest. I asked politely if there was going to be a broadcast on September 8th. I was told yes, there will be a broadcast into the schools by President Obama about taking responsibility for their education.
I then stated that I was curious as to why, as a parent, I was not notified about this. I stated that it was usual when something out of the standard curriculum is being presented, there is notification and/or consent letters sent out to parents. I was told that this broadcast was OPTIONAL for schools to show and/or take part in. I was then told that it was up to the schools to decide whether or not they felt it necessary to send out any notice.
Now, I’m just restating exactly what I was told. So, if this is true, then it is up to parents to call/write your school Principal/School Board Officials and find out if they are participating. I have started the process of trying to find out what is happening in my children’s schools. My youngest will not be exposed to this. I take total responsibility for the way my children turn out and having an eight year old as a captive audience for ANY president (but especially one who can’t convince adults) isn’t part of my plan. Now my high school child has the mental capacity and the war chest of information necessary to battle this propaganda…but my eight year old…..NO, not on my watch. Should EVERYTHING in education be “optional”. Give me a break people. Whether you are republican or democrat, whether you believe is everything any president has to say, the office of the President of the United States warrants respect. I for one, by the way I am republican and do not agree with everything Obama is doing, think that my child being educated in a public school system should listen to the address. Kids today are a product of the “time out” generation. I feel sorry for our teachers…there are still a few good parents left out there but they are losing all their rearing rights to the government. As a teacher, let me just say that keeping your kids out of school is absolutely ridiculous. Wanting Obama to fail (i.e. the country) is NOT patriotic and will cause your fellow Americans great harm…mostly the children. I’ve left the comments completely open on purpose. Some of you think anyone who would keep their kids home are nuts. And some of you might be going too far in the other direction. The point is we all have our political beliefs. If you wouldn’t want any of the people in this comment thread proselytizing to your children in school, then you shouldn’t want the President doing it either.
Think its just about staying in school or working hard? You haven’t been paying attention. The questions are out there. Asking a child what the “President wants from me” or what he “wants me to do” is not asking you to stay in school… its about building up the man and HIS agenda. Think its just a coincidence that he is speaking to a joint session of Congress the next day specifically about Health Care? OF COURSE ITS NOT.
Finally, to all you teachers out there… thank you for your commitment to the next generation. I hope you spend your time teaching and not spreading your political views, regardless of what they are. I think it says a lot about people’s parental abilities that they want to instill values in their children instead of letting the government do it. This isn’t about the Republican Party or the GOP. Many of us are just as ticked off with them as we are the President and the Democrats. The problem with the GOP losing ranks is because they don’t stand for anything. Once the GOP finds principles and our leaders find their souls… the ranks of the party will swell exponentially. The left doesn’t have any principles either, but no one really expects them too.
