The Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio R. Villaraigoso had no problem calling for a boycott of the State of Arizona because Arizona dared to pass SB 1070 enforcing immigration laws. Like so many leftists, Villaraigoso and the rest of his liberal cohorts aren’t serious about their boycott so much as they want to score cheap political points and vilify Arizona. Los Angeles gets somewhere between 25-33% of its electricity from power plants in the State of Arizona. Additionally, much of L.A.’s water comes from the Grand Canyon state. Is Villaraigoso willing to stand by his boycott and cut off the lights and water to his constituents? No, of course not.
Gary Pierce of the Arizona Corporation Commission sent a letter to the Mayor, offering to cut off their power should Los Angeles be serious about their Arizona boycott. Villaraigoso has yet to officially respond, but reportedly told a Fox staffer that Arizona needed to change their law, rebuffing any question that L.A. would be willing to cut off their power to fulfill his boycott dreams.
Like so many leftists, Villaraigoso has no spine. He doesn’t mind villifying those with differing views and telling others what to do, but he doesn’t have the courage to do it himself. He is a hypocrite of the worse kind. There are plenty of good people in Los Angeles, but they have a jerk for a Mayor who crossed the line. When will they step up and throw him out of office? Maybe a few days without power will do the trick.

I sent this to my husband and he got a laugh out of AZ letter and then said AZ should just shut it off to help their boycott–or make them come begging for it back!
