Candidate Barack Obama campaigned on hope and against the politics of fear. My how much has changed during the 16 days he has been in office. The hope is gone.
Yesterday in an oped and in a speech last night, Barack Obama warned that our country might not recover if his so-called stimulus plan isn’t passed immediately.
Might not recover? Really? Wow the consequences must be dire. If things are that bad, why did Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid promise to burn the midnight oil only to close shop around 9pm? If things are that bad, why are the Democrats off on some luxury retreat at taxpayer’s expense instead of getting this bill passed?
Speaking of luxury retreats… aren’t these the same people who lambasted Wells Fargo and others for the same thing? Not okay for banks who received our tax dollars, but its somehow necessary for lawmakers who are directly using tax money to pay the bill? No, not a hypocrite in the bunch. really.
I guess none of this should come as a surprise. Not to me anyway, but there are millions of lemmings who bought into The One’s rhetoric during the campaign. Only 16 days in, how’s that working out for you?
- Hope? GONE
- Ethics? GONE
- Lobbyist Pledge? BROKEN
- Change? WHAT A JOKE
The only thing left is business as usual in Washington. Exactly what he campaigned against.
